Something seems wrong with your gun barrel or your powder measure or your chronograph. That 168g bullet should be in the 3100+ fps range. RL-22 with a 180 g Accubond has been well over 3050 fps in several guns and over 3100 fps in mine.
Do you have another chronograph to shoot through?
I was looking at the Nosler 300 Win Mag load data for the 180 and 200 Gr Accubond .
I see they do not show any data for H1000 and the 200 gr Accubond but they do show it as the most accurate load for the 180 gr Accubonds.
I thought that was kind of odd since many people seem to like the H1000...
I've read where most people are having a heck of a time getting the ABLR bullets to shoot. Many have given up. I'm interested in these bullets for my 300 Win Mag but have heard so many bad things about getting these 190's and 210's to shoot I'm leery of even trying them.
For those of you...
I have a Magnetospeed Sporter and the only bad thing I can say is the strap could be redesigned to make it easier to adjust and keep tight but I have a much better handle on that now.
It gives readings 100% of the time and they are accurate and repeatable. I can shoot a load one week and the...
So far in my 300 Win Mag.............75 gr RL22, Winchester Brass, 180 gr Accubond and Fed 215M primers are the ticket in initial testing.
I'm getting an avg of 3116 fps and it's shooting under .75" out of my factory Rem 700
The H4831sc is not even close to getting the same speeds as 75 gr...
I finally was able to talk to Magnetospeed about two things.
1) why can't I keep the strap tight on the barrel. I was told I could use the other shim on top if need be but after backing the knob all the way out and getting the strap as tight as possible, It holds much better now. I'm fine...
I'm not sure about any good $50-$70.00 electronic scales but the My Weigh Gempro 250 scale below does everything I ever wanted in an electronic scale. Repeatable accuracy is important to me and this scale flat out produces it.
It's twice what you want to spend but I'm really happy with it so...
I used mine yesterday for the second time. This time I was able to keep the bayonet from moving until the 9th shot on this trip. It still would loosen a bit but during the break I re adjusted it. I wish there was a better way to secure this but I can live with it.
I did see some pitting at...
I have not been able to contact them yet but I will as soon as I get a chance. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one having trouble keeping things tight. They do need a better way to attach the bayonet to the barrel. As soon as I talk to them I'll post here.
I have the new Sporter model and used it last weekend for the first time. It worked perfectly as far as readings were concerned and as I increased the powder charge the unit did show a slight increase in speed on the way up. It seemed to be really accurate in it's readings.
I wasn't sure...
