Dec, 2013, I was lining up on a 4pt bull for a 700 yd shot, the bull was moving and in and out of some trees when a group of cows came out of now where. I went for the meat (I love to eat elk) and shot the lead cow, she was large.
I shot her with a Rem 700 7mm Wby at just a little over 100...
For 500 yard plus shots on elk.....Thats the reason I own a 338 and shoot
250 Partitions. Anything past 400 yards turrets are needed and I use them.
I wouldnt want any other cartridge to do the job. Sure don't need anything bigger and don't not want anything smaller.
The 338 will punish and...
I'm into my 3rd 264 win mag now. Don't buy into that ole wives tale that the sixty four is a barrel burner. Just take care of it and it will last just as long as any 270 barrel.
If and when your barrel throat start going out just chamber it out a little further, you might loose a little...
I have to be candid....
I'll be buying the new 6.5 120 Interbond before I'll buy a 6.5 130 Accubond.
Simply fits my applications for both my 26 caliber rifles, 260 and 264.
My guess is Nosler has an order from a European country that wants
the 130 grain weight That's why 130.
Nosler...
While I am excited to hear that Nosler is coming out with a 26 cal. AB
I have to wonder why a 130 grain weight when most shooters will be shooting 260's and Sweedes.
What is the 130 grain going to offer me a 125 NP wont already give me?
I'm loaded up on those and now I have to find a reason...
Shooter,
I use both 180 and 225 AB's in my 338.
I shoot the 180s at just about 3,200 and the 225s at just about 2,900.
They shoot exactly vertical with the 225s shooting dead on at 100 yards and the 180s are 3" high at 100 with a 300 yard zero. When I take the 338 and 225's for elk I give it...
Dropped this boy about a week ago in eastern WA. He was 270 yards away when the AB put his lights out before he hit the ground.

My load was 77 grains of 760 behind the 338/180 Accubond for 3,200 fps.
Here is a damage photo.
