Nosler,
I was looking at the Midway USA website and they list this bullets as discontinued. Is this true? Maybe this means a 35 caliber accubond is in the works? Thanks for the help.
I want to buy some of these to try in my 7mm mauser but cannot find them anywhere. Nosler, are you making any now? None of the online or local dealers have them.
I'm not sure where Nosler gets their numbers either, but I find it impossible to believe that the 150 grain 30 caliber Accubond has a higher BC than the 8mm 200 grain accubond. It just doesn't add up. I think Winchester must have it right. Nosler, are you sure of your numbers?
Thanks for the quick reply Nosler1, so if I read correctly the 180 grain ballistic tip actually has a higher B.C. then the new accubond? 180 .394
200 Accubond .379?? How is this possible?
I just received my order of new 8mm accubonds, I can't way to try them in my 8mm improved, what is the B.C. of these new bullets, they are much longer than the 180 BT's. Thanks.
Thats cool that you have a 35 Whelen, my dad has used one since 1987 and just loves his, it was probably the reason I had my 358 STA made. Carrying a 26 in barreled rifle really isn't hard to do, I do run marathons and have hunted Mt. Goat in Northern B.C. with my 8mm, which is the same weight...
Yes, I've been leaning towards the 358 STA, shooting 250 grain bullets 3000 fps just makes you feel a little more comfortable than a 200 at 2900 fps, not to mention the more frontal area you get from a 35 caliber. Actually both rifles are almost identical, both 98 mausers, both have 26 in...
Where did you here that this was a new caliber for Winchester. I think this would be super as it may encourage bullet companies to make a few more 8mm bullets.
I have a inland grizzly/dall sheep hunt booked for August of 2005. I'm either planning on taking a 8mm-06 improved with 200 grain accubonds or my 358 STA.
I think we also need a 35 caliber accubond that doesn't have such a long nose like the ballistic tip, maybe a 225 with a nose like the 180 .338 ballistic tip, a person has to seat the ballistic tip so deep that it doesn't work in short actions or cases like the 358 STA very well.
I think that it is awesome that the accubond will be available in 8mm. I have a 8mm-06 improved that shoots 200 grain bullets 2900 fps. The question I have is what will be the BC of these bullets, and is there any chance they might be available before December?
