Thanks for the input fellas,. The online Speer data looks like what I’ll use. I have a pound of cfe223 in my cart at midway USA. Was just looking for a bit of input from someone with hands on with this cartridge before I placed the order.
I also wanted to migrate back to the standard cup and...
Is there any loading data for the 250 savage for modern bolt action rifles ? I’m assuming that the data from both Hogdon and Nosler for data for the the savage model 99, correct ? Has anyone ran the pressures up in a bolt gun ? Seems to be quite a bit of room left in the case for more powder...
Here’s a picture of that 6.5 Lancer next to a factory 25-06 thats loaded with a 117 hornday. The twist on the barrel ( the best I can tell) is 10.25. Sorry about the delay in getting this posted.
Those of you that are in need of 250 Savage brass Mid south has it in stock, but it won’t pop up unless you know where to look. Go to their site , in the search box type it “special buy” it will take you to a special buy page, scroll down the page it’s there. It’s primed Hornady brass. I just...
No idea on a twist rate. I know he use to go out west to hunt elk with it, and it does look like there is a box of hand loads with 160gr bullets in them. I can find absolutely no info on the cartridge
WoW took awhile to get back on this site ( formerly yoda here) anyways I have a question.
Has anyone here heard of and know anything about reloading for a 6.5 Lancer ? Here is what I know about the gun:
Built by the lady’s dad I’m dateing in the 60’s. The action came from Herters ( I think it’s...
Not sure how this attachment will turn out, it should be case and chamber dimension of the 350 Legend, which if winchester builds there xpr with the bore dia could be a problem for someone trying to shoot .358 bullets. The case and the bullets used in factory ammunition are proprietary to the...
Hodgdon has loads for both rifle and pistol, powder charges are the same for any given bullet. Saami max pressures are listed at 36000, and the max loads on the hodgdon site keep the pressure right around there. The case strength will be your limiting factor reloading this round not the frame...
You can pretty much move that cartridge over all length anyplace you want. I do believe that all loading data for the 44 either coming out of pistol data or rifle data is are limited to saami specs, and the longest length given will still operate in a revolver cylinder. You dont have to follow...
It's a 1in 10, twist. Only reason I'd prolly shoot those other bullets would be just playing around. I'd look at the 115 or 120 partition, before anything else, this is my main hunting rifle

The gun in question is a 1971 built model 700, the barrel it now wears is a Bartlein #3, 25 inches long. The powder I'm running is IMR 7977, fired by a WLR primer. I can seat a 100gr speer Bt Spitzer to the base of the neck and be a couple thousands off the lands, this bullet at 3400fps shoots...
Seeing is how I'm bored out of my mind right now I pull my 25-06 out of the cabinet and started measuring things. Nothing fancy just old school, I've always shot 100gr flat base bullets, seated to the bottom of the neck of the case, well now that I'm playing with the 110 accbond with this new...
Hodgdon reloading has a load using a 100gr partition using IMR 7977, that will do 3400fps, I am running that velocity with 7977 . I use to run all IMR 4831, but I'm really liking this powder.
