    nosler muzzle loader bullets??

I took my first deer with a muzzle loader this Dec. I used a Nosler 260 grain sabot partion-HG bullet. I can't seem to find these bullets anywhere on the Nosler bullets page. Where can I get them? Do they make them anymore? I would really like some more. The Part No. on the package is 50261...

    Case length

This may be a dumb  question......... How much less than the case length dimension (given in the reloading manual) do you trim your brass. I am reloading for a .257 Roberts, the case length in the manual is 2.233" Do I trim to that dimension or a couple of thousandths less? Thanks.

    copper fouling

This may be a dumb question, but, why do some of my guns have more copper in the barrles after shooting the others? Assume the same number of rounds are fired in each gun. I shot my .257 last week and there was a lot more copper than in my sons 270 that I shot last night. Both guns shot Nosler...

    Chronograph

My wife gave me a Chronograph for my B-day. So, besides finding out how fast a bullet goes with a paticular load, what do you do with it. Asked in a little more serious manner, how do you us the info you get from the cronograph to improve your reloads. does that make sense?

    Coyote hunting question

What time of day have you had the best luck hunting coyotes? I've read that early morning and/or late afternoon is the best time(s), I was wondering you have found? Plan on giving it a try this weekend. Thanks!

    Has anyone experienced this

I was at the range trying to find "the load" for my 243. I'm shooting 70 grain BT. I was using IMR 4895 powder. The shot pattern was kind of interesing and I was wondering if anyone else as seen something similar or is the shot pattern a shooter issue. I'll try to describe it here. 1x means it...

    First deer

My son took his first ever deer on Saturday with his muzzle loader. It's wasn't a big deer but he was pretty excited, as was I. My two hunting buddies where there too. They have spent time with him teaching him safety and ethics and many other things related to hunting and shooting. I too have...

    Nosler brass and other ???

I'm getting ready to do some loading for my 243. I was looking through the Midway catalog the other day and saw some Nolsler brass  So, what is the advantage to using Nosler brass over the WW brass? What am I getting for my money besides paying for the name ( haven't bought any yet)...

    reloading for coyotes

Not sure if this is a reloading question or a hunting question? Guess it doesn't matter all that much  I'm thinking after the first of the year I would try to thin out some coyotes. I was thinking about using my 243. I was looking at my #5 Nosler manual and saw that there are 3 different...

    Have to wait another year

Our deer season ended yesterday. I will have to wait another year to see if the 110 grain AB will kill a deer. Saw two bucks but they did not have legal antlers (min 3 points) :( :( BUT I did prove that these ABs will stop a coyote

    Loading for a 270

This is kind of a follow on to a question I've asked before. There are some new powders out there and then there are the IMR powders that I have and still use. My son has a .270 (bolt action) and I was going to help him work up a good accurate load in 130 grain nosler PT bullet. Now I know...

    IMR Powders VS new powders

I started loading when I was a teenager and always used the IMR powders. I was always very conservative in my hand loads. Since I have joined this forum I have learned quite a bit. I have also seen a lot of new powders that I know nothing about. Are these new powders any better than the old IMR...

first shot , could you some advice

I went to the range today with my 257 Bob. I'm shooting 110 AB with 33.0 grains of IMR 4895. I shot 5 shots, the first was a bit high and to the left (see photo below). The next two shots were off to the left a bit. I made a scope adjustment and shot two more rounds. Pretty darn good in my...

    1st time .257 Roberts w/ 100AB

Well, I've been meaning to do this all summer but I'm just getting to it. I'm going to try some 110AB in my Ruger M77 257. I had called Nosler and they said to use the reloading data for the 115 gr BT. I have loaded for the 115BT before and that load in my gun was a tack driver. So tonight...

    muzzle loader cleaning for dummies

I would be the dummy. I don't do muzzle loading, I have too many other hobbies I can't afford and just never got too fired up about them. My son bought one about a year ago (he's 21) but I don't know how much he knows about them and I sure didn't teach him anything about them. His gun is...

gun break in ; gun cleaning

I've only owned two rifles in my life. One I bought when I didn't know my A** from my elbow and the other was used. So this barrel break-in is new to me. How do you break a barrel in properly and what happens if you don't? I use Hoppes products to clean my barrels. They have one for removing...

    My biggest whitetail

Here is a picture of my biggest whitetail ever. 5 points 161 pounds. Dropped him with one shot from my 257 Roberts using 100 grain Nolser Partition bullet. He was about 130 yards away. He's mighty tasty too  And here is what is left to the bullet

fast burning vs slower burning powders?

I've been reloading for over 30 years but I never really got into the "science" of it. I have always been rather conserative in my reloading and it has served me well over the years. when it came time to choose a new load I would refer to the loading manual and pick one. I would go with a load...
