Redding neck bushing for new Nosler 280 Ackley brass

Best would be to get a piece of loaded brass and measure it with your micrometer. Subtract 0.001 - 0.003 depending on your preference. I’d bet you will need one between 0.309 and 0.311.

Myth of the MOA hunting rifle

Jobs here also. Some chickens to clean after, vegetables to plant. We moved into this house last July and we have done a ton of projects already but I’m not sure they’re ever going to end! Painting isn’t done yet and this week I’m going to get after the loading bench in the garage/shop...

Myth of the MOA hunting rifle

The statement “if I do my part” is what’s in question. Sure, the shooter is an integral part of the equation. But even when the shooter does their part very few hunting weight rifles will shoot 1 MOA every shot. Most shots? Maybe. By some dudes definition the rifle I posted above is a 1/2...

Myth of the MOA hunting rifle

Right on. This rifle is a fantastic shooter. Groups well at distance, not too heavy to carry (around 7.5 lbs scoped). 30-06 Leupold 6x42 LRD With 155 Custom Competitions and IMR4350 doing a seating depth test. But...for 20 shots with H4350 and 165 ABs it shoots like this. There’s...

    Lapua with Accubonds.

Yep. If I had to pick a seating depth for Accubonds without being able to adjust I would roll with 0.075 off the lands. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Downloading the 30-06

Eh. I would keep on shooting the low recoil loads, sounds like they are working great! As for the ammo can of rounds you could drop it off here! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I may still back order a T-7. It would be sweet to have all the Mashburn dies set up all the time! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Redding T-7 Feedback

Thanks gents! I had a change yesterday looking for one in stock. Nothing! And NY is shut down I think, it might be quite a while before Redding is filling all their orders again. Brownells had a Redding Ultramag in stock and I read about it a bit. Still a single stage but a beast and...

    Redding T-7 Feedback

For those of you with a T-7, but who load for more than one rifle, how do you use the turret positions? How is the press for “tough” shaping operations? Good to great mechanical advantage? Do you have the extra die plates or do you use one of the positions essentially as a single...

    Loading bench inputs

Ladies and gents, I’m rebuilding my loading bench. The first one got moved 7 times all across the country. Now that we are in the house I think we will be in long-term it’s time for a more solid one. I know I will screw it into the wall studs. I have about 8 feet to work with. I know I will...

    concentricity issues

Other steps that might help. First, if you are asking how to improve concentricity that tells me you have a concentricity gauge. Terrible things! Just kidding. But after every change you make I would recommend testing it out--did it improve things or make them worse? Elmer Thud already...

    COW?

I have used about 17 grains Red Dot, pistol primer (important), case filled with COW, grits, etc, then some toilet paper or wax to plug the case. You can start a little lower, maybe 15ish grains and see whether it gives you enough oomph. Here’s a link to a discussion on a different forum...

    Fixed power versus Variable power

Almost all of my hunting rifles have a 6x Leupold on them. Leupold has earned some negative feedback lately (poor tracking when dialing, loss of zero, etc), but the Leupold 6xs I use have given me good service. Note that I don’t dial at all with them, I prefer holdover reticles. Sent from...
