.25 cal 110 Accubond

Politicians eh! Who needs 'em. Liars, thieves and cheats all of them. Barnacles on the arse of society!

Well, here it is, I've been to the range & the detail from the IMR4831 load is not great.
I've got the accuracy, but not the pace.

Chrono speeds were 3003fps to 3039fps. The average is 3025fps & the ES 36fps.
Muzzle energy would be 2235ft lbs & that doesn't equal what the 100gn Sierra is @ 2418 ft lbs.

Disappointingly slow really, so I'm wondering how far I may be able to go with the charge.
The top & bottom is I need more coal on the fire !
Cheers, ET

Elmer, that is pretty slow on the 110 gr BT's. I get a chronographed (at 15 feet) 3060 fps in my .257 Roberts with the 110 BT Nosler factory load.

I agree OT3, yes it is slow. The chrono was set approx. 15ft from the muzzle and it's fair to say I was disappointed. Cheers, ET

We will find something. Now that you have the seating depth figured out, maybe we can try some of the other powders again and see what comes out of it?

I've just loaded up some RL-22 and IMR-4350 under the 110gr AB. I will be at the range at some point this week and I'll share velocity results. I also have some RL-19 and H-4831 recipes in the works with the same bullet. Wish I could find Retumbo or IMR-7828 around me. H100V also.

For interest CSC, the best performing load I have found for my rifle .25-06Rem. with the 110gn AB is:

Remington cases trimmed 2.484" Neck sized.
Fed.210 Match Primers
IMR4350 x 50.5gns
The cartridge OAL is: 3.400" and the seating depth using a comparator shows 2.875"
This comparator measurement shows my bullet .040" from the lands in my rifle.

This gave a MV of 3120fps avg. ES was 29fps and produced .8" groups at 100yds. I think it would do better, but the shooting is down to me!!

The next best was using 51gns IMR4831 but the MV was only 3025fps avg. ES 36fps.
I tried Rel.22 (55.5gns) and Vit.N160 (52gns) and found both also to be quite slow, but haven't tried any other propellants you mention.
Cheers, ET

Rl25 has been giving me 3200+ in a 24" barrel with 115 BTs. Might be a good one to try.

If you have two touching and one out, I would guess barrel heat as the culprit. It drives me crazy untill I just slow down and take my time.
just my .02
