Does anybody here know how well the 300 grain Barnes Original FN holds up at the higher 45-70 Marlin velocities?

I would say it'll hold up very well. I think those old Barne's Original's look really nice from all I have seen pulled from jugs or from animals. Their soft lead core and decently thick jacket seem to hold up real well at the moderate speeds the rifle is capable of.
