7RM / 140 Nosler BT 2900fps

I ran a 140 BT into the jugs today out of a 7Rem Mag. It was a mid range load, approx. 2900 fps.
I was a little surprised, it exited jug#4 and was found on the table between 4 and 5. It weighed 83g as found, for a total of 59% weight retention.

About what I'd expect, and yes, you left plenty of 7mm Rem Mag velocity on the table... :grin:

I've seen 3200+ fps from factory 140 gr Remington ammo...

That 140 B-Tip did real well. That's about what I'd expect from a B-Tip at good velocity, up close. Steven & Storm made a string of one-shot kills with their 120 B-Tips from a .280 and a 7mm-08. The 140 should perform at least as well.

Did the core seperate in the test, or did it come out afterward ?

It fell out when i picked it up

That should make it a fine hunting bullet for the 7-08.
