Well mine looks like Jim's. Not for long though; I'm having my first 6.5 put together right now. It's a blue printed S/A 700, Bartlein Rem.Varmint/Sendaro profile 1in8.5, Manners T5, Wyatts DBM, Seekins 20MOA rail being put together by Long Rifles Inc. I'm hoping to have it in 8 weeks. Oh, almost forgot it'll be a 6.5 Creedmoor.

That sounds like a really cool rig Scott. The little 6.5CM was pretty high on my list till I stumbled upon the 6.5 Swede. Still is really, but since I haven't fired the Swede yet it'll take me a little while to want something else..

The "Swede" is another older cartridge that does quite well in newer guns loaded with modern componets. I have a friend who has one in a Tikka and a couple of years ago he shot a record Big Horn Sheep at 374yds - one and done.

Oh yeah, without a doubt Scott. I really like Nosler's data..

It runs the 140's nearly 2800 and that is pretty danged good in my book. Lists almost 3000 with the 125 PT, again, out of the 23" test barrel, that is cookin.. Darn near 270 on spec's, with a little less powder...

I like JDs, its just like mine. But if we're gonna start a similar threat it should be for .284s not just .280 AIs.

The only 6.5 I've ever owned. It's a well done sporter on a swede 96. Somebody did a bunch of good woodworking on this little rifle, including curly maple cap and inlays where military metsl was replaced. Re contoured the barrel pencil thin and did an integral brake. I picked it up for a song at a local shop. The bore is dark but with good deep rifling and it regularly runs under 2" with 140gr hornady SP @ 2500fps. I found a purged and resealed weaver 1-4 with a post reticle that it now wears.

Mikey, that is a great looking Classic!

It is incredibly trim and handy. It's also very light. I have often considered having it rebarreled with a good barrel contoured to match the recontured military barrel. I'm betting it would be more accurate..

I don't think I payed much more than $200 for it so it was worth picking up. I gave it my dad but occasionally use it when I go back to Mi. It looks really classy with that vintage 1-4 weaver and love that tapered post w/ crosshairs reticle.
