A buddy brought this wonderful old rifle to the range today. Made both of us smile.

It's one of the best battle rifles ever conceived. It is accurate, and easy to shoot for almost everyone.
If you can handle the weight, it makes for a good hunting rifle as well.

I had one, a Winchester sniper model. Yep the side of the action was drilled and taped for the take off mount and had Redfield rear target sight. I traded it for an out board motor. Needed the motor more than I needed the rifle. Yeah I'm still kicking myself.

I bought on last summer from CMP.
Like it so much I ordered two more this past Monday.

Was talking with my ace compadre the other day about using mine on our new lease in Mo this November.
There's a creek bottom on the place where 100 yards would be a long shot.

The peep sight are good all the way out to 400 yds for me.
It's a .30-06, so it'll be able to handle any game animal on this continent.
I used one for a while to coyote hunt. Then I had a bout of stupidity, and traded it.
I'm still kicking myself, as well.
When I get my next one, I'm passing it on to my son.

Can't beat that "chink"! My dad has one great old battle rifle.

I have an m1a, just as nice as the older grand but with a drop box magazine

Great rifle. I used to shoot a National Match M1 at Camp Perry. Amazing accuracy at 600 yards.
