I have been locked out of my account for a bit. Thought I would share my 2022 hunts with you all.
Congrats to all of you with some fine trophies and full freezers!
This year started off with my Dads crossbow antelope.
My brother shot a nice general season bull elk.
Then my sons archery elk...
I hunt mostly with my bow but my kids and I have shot a few elk with rifles and muzzy. We have used:
270 Win 150 gr. Partitions
270 Win 130 gr. BT
7mm-08 139 Interbond
7mm mag 150 partitions
.54 Hawken 460 gr. Buffalo bullet
Just got back from Colorado. What a beautiful setting to hunt mule deer! I shot my buck at 165 yards with my 270 win using 150 gr. Ballistic tip handloads.
Bullet was a complete pass thru and left a quarter sized exit. The buck trotted about 10 yards and dropped.
We went 3 for 3 on mule...
Thx all!
As a matter of fact he did say “This is a hunt I will remember for the rest of my life!”
Now that is what it is all about!

Private land is even more doable if you can swing the cost. If cost is preventing you from going, don’t hesitate to try a public land hunt either.
Antelope can be done with minimal cost and max opportunity. They are everywhere and provide abundant opportunity!
Either way, good luck, you...
That is a great buck! We moved from Oregon just prior to me being old enough to start hunting. I would love to go back and get a black tail some day!

Wanted to share a pic of my Wy. Pronghorn. My brother and I drew this year and had a great trip! It was a muddy mess but a lot of fun!
Found this buck in day 2 and I really liked his look. Bumped him on the stalk (darn doe). Ended up shooting him at 515 yards with my Weatherby Backcountry...
That is awesome! Great buck!
Time is definitely precious with the kids! Enjoy every minute you can!
Congrats to you all in a very successful trip!

My son shot his best buck to date last week. He used his Remington 700 in 270 Win - 130 gr. BT handloads.
Shot was 200 yards after making a stalk up a steep ridge to get elevation on him as he worked a herd of does. Buck was quartering to us slightly. He only made it about 10 yards after...
I got both my shots. Moderna. (Front line EMS)
First dose brought on a sore arm. Second dose brought sore arm, chills, muscle aches, and headache.
Really wasn’t too bad.
