I picked up 8lbs. 1st load I tried was for 6mm Remington, 90 Ballistic Tips. Used same load as 4350. 1st 3 shots touching, pulled 4th for .62" group. Didn't have chronograph out so no idea of velocity. Have some 25-06 and 7mm Mag loaded, just haven't gotten to range.
I picked up 8lbs of 4451. I loaded same load in my 6mm Remington as 4350. Didn't have chrono set-up so not sure velocity. first 3 shots measured .25", then i pulled on making the 4 shot group .6"
I am going to load some 7mm Mag 150 gr next. I've used 4350 for that as well. Will update...
I agree 30-06 is hard to beat for all around. I hunt in some pretty thick northeastern woods and my preference is my Remington Model 7ss in 7-08, topped with a Leupold VX3 2.5 x 8. It weighs about 6.5 lbs with scope. I have no problem anywhere out to 300 yds., but carry all day with no problem.
I am about to start working up loads for 200 AB. I know every rifle is different, but looking for recommendations for a powder and charge to start. Load development is not fun with this gun, so if I can save my shoulder a little punishment.
Thank you in advance.
I would like to hear any loads for the 8mm 200 accubond. I have been loading Barnes 160 gr for my 8mm Magnum. Reloader 17 and getting almost 3400fps and very accurate.
I would highly recommend the 8mm. I have all the Remington metrics 6mm, 7mm/08, 7mm Magnum and 8mm Magnum. The 8mm always draws attention at the range. Muzzle blast and recoil are wild, but just imagine what the animal on the other end feels like. I am always interested in hearing what loads...
Doesn't having only one gun take all the fun out of constantly buying new guns. Every week I seem to be able to justify buying something that I "need". I have a 6mm varmits/deer, 7mm-08 deer, 7mm mag anything i want to shoot, 30-06 (doesn't everyone). Now I have just decided, I "need" the...
