Speaking strictly for me, and based on my collecting habits, I think it's hard to have too many 308s. It was the caliber I started with and I have more of those than anything else.
I have two 788s, a 308 and a 30-30. I think you'll be happy with your find. 788s have a reputation for being...
Not trying to hijack your thread, 338, but Sierra has apparently made a batch of their 225 SBTs, too. I was at their store the other day and they had some on their seconds list. First I've seen of these, or the Accubonds, in years.

Saturday morning I went to the range to verify some zeroes for a competition I'm in this coming weekend. My 17 year old grandson went with me. He's had a little experience several years ago shooting a 22 rifle but some family issues interfered and he didn't stay with it.
The previous night he'd...
26, I'm a Tikka freak and own 20ish in various models and calibers. I have only had one lemon in all the ones I own/have owned and like the fact it's not hard to find a load that's good to great with little effort.
My CTR in 6.5CM is my favorite because it shoots any ammo I've tried into...
On the left side of the barrel, just in front of the receiver, there should be 2 or 3 letters stamped.
The first will establish the month it was made and the second 1 or 2 will define the year.
You can find charts explaining the code on the net (type in Remington manufacture codes) or if you...
Last Monday my wife and I took a road trip to Scheels. We weren't looking for anything, just getting out of the house.
I always head for the guns and she joins me there later. On this occasion I found a Browning Hells Canyon in 6.5 Creedmoor topped with a Leupold Freedom 4-12x40. The scope...
My wife and I went to Scheels this past Monday. In the Cafe there they had made a memorial honoring those who died in the service of our country and those who are MIA.
Scheels is my first choice of sporting goods retailers and gestures like this only solidifies that. No attempt to sell...
I've used the 6.5 PRC for a long time, as have my stepsons, and we have had stellar results on deer with it. We have found it easy to load with no issues so I'm pretty sure you're gonna grow to love your set up. It's definitely a shooter out of the box.
Ron
I've had mine for about 7 months, and it has been one of the best investments I've ever made for shooting/reloading gear. It's super easy to set up and use, plus it takes up virtually no space on a bench. It gives me all the data I need to evaluate ammo and create drop charts.
I think you would...
Kinley, in 1995 I was sent to Sig instructor school. One of the things taught was to disassemble your pistol, then use the barrel to chamber check every round of your duty ammo to make sure it would fit correctly. When reading this story, that came to my mind.
Ron
Man, that was close. I've never hunted anything that bites back (not counting coyotes) but after reading this story I believe I would check every round of ammo I took to make sure it would feed and chamber correctly.

24605, I said that and worse. We did not see the decline in numbers the way we usually did after peak (Holiday) season and income tax time. After covid, people learned they could order stuff to their houses so it continued after the covid thing ended. Beds, other furniture of all kinds...
After working for FedEx the last 4 1/2 years I'm leaving for a new job. FedEx was good to me but it has definitely taken a toll on my body. I have a shoulder that has some damage and I'm hoping to avoid any surgery, etc .
Starting next week I will be an assistant to the county sheriff, doing...
Before starting a new job next week I wanted to make a trip to a 500 yd range about 40 miles from my house. The wind lately has been horrible but was relatively calm yesterday.
I was shooting my Tikka Super Varmint 6.5 PRC and CTR in 6.5 Creedmoor. All shooting was done off bags and a bench...
CTD, after I had to put my dog, Frankie, to sleep in September I got another one named Buddy a short while later.
He is half Lab and half, I believe, whitetail because he runs and jumps like a deer. He is not an aggressive dog, he is just full of love and affection. He is just past a year...
Yesterday (4-18-24) we had to put our old Lab, Izzy, to sleep. She had developed a cancerous growth on her rear leg that encompassed the bones. The vet was nice and tried to offer alternatives, but the end result would have meant her mobility issues would have gotten worse. Rather than having...
I bought some Ginex LRs early on in the drought from Global Ordnance. One thing to bear in mind is they are ever so slightly larger than the "normal" Federal, Remington, etc and will take a little more pressure to seat . This was in commercial brass not staked military style. They're not...
