I talked to Hornady and they are discontinuing the 270 Interbond in 150Grain. I ordered a few boxes. From what I've researched, they are very similiar to the Accubond. This winter I would like to try some different powders but would like some quickloads on: Magpro, N170 and H4831SC. It will...
Jb,
I've had really good luck with my Browning 270WSM with Magpro and Fed 210M primers and 150G Accubonds. Just over 3000 fps and 0.3 to 0.4 groups at 1230 ft elevation. Hope this helps.
Very informative write up Dan. I've had pretty good results with RL17 and H4831SC with my Browning 300 WSM. Have you experimented with either of those powders?
I'm wondering if anyone has the same results as I have using nickel plated brass vs bronze. In both my 270 WSM's rifles, using all the same components except the case type, I get better results using nickel plated vs non nickel plated. Federal and Browning cases are the only nickel plated...
I just thought I would pass them on to anyone looking for bullets. My local Scheels have 30 caliber 180g Accubonds on sale for $39.00. That's the cheapest I've seen in awhile. You might be able to order online also, not sure. Hope this helps someone.
Thanks for the kind words. I've used Norma Bondstrike and Accubonds the past few years with excellent results but really excited to try the TA's. Part of the fun of reloading is to try different "recipes".. at least for me.
I think I found my Elk load for this fall. H4350 with Norma Brass, Remington 9.5M primers and Federal TA 175 bullets out of my XBolt. Average speed was 3087fps. Pretty happy with it.
Mystery almost solved. I decapped the 30.06 in question and compared it to my Federal primers. The color under the anvil is yellow which matches my Federal 210 OR Fed 210M. I doubt they would put 210M primers in their factory ammo. Thanks for the replies.
Question for everyone: I bought some Federal Terminal Ascents Factory ammo in 30.06 with 175G . I pulled the 175G bullets and used them for my 300WSM for load development. My question is: can I assume since it was Federal Factory ammo that the 30.06 cases that I pulled the bullets from were...
Hi and Merry Christmas to everyone!!
Over the Christmas break I'm going to do a ladder test on a new powder, load combination on my 300WSM. My question is: Does it make a difference if i use brand new brass or should I use some of my fired brass for the ladder test? Curious on opinions to...
Thanks for the replies. All the brass is factory Federal brass. Haven't been able to secure any new brass from Federal so use factory brass, shoot it and then use the brass to reload.
Question for everyone: Federal nickel brass and Fed 210M primers. Found a great load for 270WSM with Federal nickel brass and Fed 210M primers. Here is the problem/question: what would case the primers to just fall out. It has happened about 4 times out of 50 handloads. They seem to seat...
