Has anyone compared the surface bearing length of the 175 ABLR to the 175 Partition? Nosler reloading manual states a MV of 2970 for the Partition, so I would assume that the ABLR will have a much shorter bearing surface allowing MV well above 3000 fps. You would think Nosler would have posted...
Can anyone post the surfacing bearing length of the 168 and the 175 lrabs. Or maybe that of the 168 Berger vs 168 LRAB. With all things being equal, the bullet with the shortest surface bearing should have a higher MV ??

Yes, we practise from 800 to 1100 all the time. Not many fields that offer that kind of range, but when you approach a farmer that has a long field, generally it peaks their interest that anyone can shoot that far. Plus they have never seen a long range rifle either. Our field was...
Thanks Muleman, the link worked fine. I have yet to see the 168's on the shelf, but the 175's are not that hard to find. Very few long range hunters in my neck of the woods so they generally stick to the 150's or less in the 7mag. I feel that the 175 will buck the breeze and really pound a...
Considering that these bullets will expand down to 1300 fps, the 175 gr can be launched at 3000 fps, that's means it has extreme long range potential for whitetails in the southeast where I hunt. The deer aren't large, say 150-180 lbs, so the 175 lrab should reach out to 1200 yds with ease. All...
Anyway to create a section just for the new Long Range Accubond bullet? It would save searching for new kills and reloading info for the new bullets.
Thanks,
Jim
I wonder if the ALR will have an element of fragmentation like the A-max and the Berger at long range. The Amax if fragment as low as 1400fps and I think the Berger will at 1500fps. If the ALR will only mushroom at long range, then the wound channel is very small. I guess it will depend on the...
Just spoke with Mike at Nosler. Both the 7mm 168 & 175 will stabilize in a 9 twist! Hope product can keep up with demand. Crop depredation is going to be a blast!!
