I appreciate the respectful spirit here

I think this is the only firearms forum I've been on where I've actually met folks from the forum in person. I've hunted with a couple of folks from this forum, stayed with others (thank you!) and enjoyed some in person and phone conversations with others. Good people! I'm the old fellow...

    NOSLER FACTORY BLEMS

Probably 20 years ago I had a Nosler blem, a 30 cal 168 HPBT match bullet come "unwrapped" shortly after exiting the barrel of my 308 Win. The bullet sounded like it was flapping, and then poof, it vanished in a gray burst. I think it was less than 50 yards from me, but that was a long time ago...

    Another .308

I remember when Seattle and King County went with Accuracy International rifles. Managed to get a few rounds through one while I was an instructor at our old state SWAT sniper school. I was more than a bit envious... My 30-06 Rem 700, the one I've hunted with so often during the past 10 -15...

Ya, this is a pretty doggone good place to hang out and discuss all things firearms related. Only person I don't get is Fotis, everything he says is just Greek to me.... ;) Ducking and running now! Guy

    260 Remington

Yes. I've shot the 140's from a 6.5 Creed and found good accuracy. Spent some time checking on the bullet name to make sure that the Tipped GameKing and the Gamechanger were indeed the same bullet. They are. Two names for one bullet. Guy

This thread is such a great example of guys on this particular forum helping each other. Thanks all, and thanks to Nosler for supporting this forum. Regards, Guy

    Anyone know??

Ya, they re-released the solid base, 10+ years ago and I scooped up quite a few. Apparently they're using them again. It's a good bullet, stronger than the typical cup and core offering. Guy

    260 Remington

This is the closest I could find on Hodgdon's online data center. Perhaps use it as a starting point in your load development?

    Anyone know??

Nosler has just released the solid base again in their line of "Whitetail" ammo. Guy

PSA Vote 50% of hunters don’t vote

Good grief - I hadn't heard about this case until this morning. Copied from a post on X: "Douglass Mackey @dougmackeycase Douglass Mackey Case and the Meme Defense Fund President Donald Trump: "They're putting Douglass Mackey in jail for sharing a joking meme about Hillary Clinton seven...

These? Looks a lot like a Speer or Sierra to me.

    308 165 Solid Base Seconds

Agree. Like them both, but that heavy base and jacket of the solid base seems to help hold the bullet together quite well. Guy

    308 165 Solid Base Seconds

I jumped on a bunch of them in 6mm and 308 years ago when they made runs of them... Great shooting bullets and I think my son took a bear with one of the 165's from his 30-06 a while back. Guy

    375-338 Chatfield-Taylor

What a beautiful rifle! I have no experience with the cartridge, have just read about it over the years. I believe it's merely the 338 Win Mag necked up to 375, but I could be wrong. There is handloading data available for it. It doesn't give up much to the 375 H&H in power. Should be easy to...

    Today's Noble Beast

I was within 50 yards of this one. Was on my way home from quail hunting - no quail were harmed during said hunt and the shotgun barrels are still clean doggone it! Saw our local herd of bighorn sheep near the highway. I pulled the Jeep over, well off the roadway. The critters are so used to...
