Yikes, it sure left a mess. Sorry to hear that shelf did not hold up to all that weight. Your wood shelf sure looks solid. I had a shelf that I built a ways back when I started reloading, started seeing that shelf buckle and warp under that weight over time, but I still keep buying lead, so I...

Come ups was spot on out to 200 yards, set velocity at an average of 1085 fps on the Kestrel. Love it. Just have not done past 200 with the .22 yet. Should be able to have enough elevation with the 30 MOA rail and the ATACR out to 400 -500. A little wind at that distance will ruin your day.
I just picked one of the top powders for the 7mm Magnum and used RL22 to get an idea on velocity. the only con is the 18 inch barrel length which brings the speed down close to 7mm-08 speeds with 24-26 inch barrels.

I'm not able to find that Barnes FB 170 HP in my bullet library. Tried to find it in the .355" diameter bullet selections, highest bullet weight in my file .355" is a 125 grain. Not sure if you use .357" diameter bullets, but the highest bullet weight I have is a 140 grain. Hopefully someone...
Won't matter if its ribs or brisket, meat is meat. ;) I love ribs as well, you reminded me that I have some batches of short ribs from that black angus steer from last year in the freezer, that just refreshed my memory. I'll smoke them just like baby backs soon.
I have used similar bullet weights in my Creedmoor, and have not reached max velocity as stated in the manuals at times, it depends on case capacity and chamber dimensions. Would you know the H20 water capacity on your fired cases? Perhaps you can give us the H20 case capacity, exact velocity...
This is a rough estimation with the given details.

Not only economical, but easy not to lose brass, just dump in a container, i would always lose some brass using my automatics. I just need to build a brass catcher. And pistol powder goes a long way.
I do it similar to you, I still use peach paper. I used kosher salt, coarse black pepper, with some garlic and onion powder, a little cayenne pepper and some paprika and smoked paprika. I use a thin layer of mustard, not too much though. I did mine to 203 degrees internal, at 225 degrees . I...
Made my own brisket seasoning, trimmed the fat, and seasoned the brisket, its roughly 15 lbs, started the cook at 5:30 pm yesterday in the Traeger smoker at 225 degrees, spritz every hour using 50 /50 blend of apple juice and apple cider vinegar, set the phone alarm to go off each hour till 3...
Thinking to start using my own home made seasonings from scratch for now on when I smoke meats in the Traeger. I am smoking a 18 pound brisket tomorrow evening throughout the night until around noon the following day. Possibly a 15 to 17 hour cook or longer, depending on conditions and stall...
Found a case at Harbor Freight for $12.99, it comes with the pre cut foam. I wanted to see if there was a size a little bigger to adapt the Kestrel as well, but they were too large for my liking. It has 4 pre cut foam layers, I could possibly use the lower precut foam to adapt the Kestrel and...
