I'll be using your idea of the block and tackle for loading deer . I thought of doing this , but was afraid it would break the bed .
I got this with my buggy , I've never had a gun in it . getting dirty from lying around .
I was looking back through my pics and found these couple . I'm not sure how common the fisher is , and thought you guys might like seeing one . I have got trail cam pics of these before , but not close up like these .
yes , this should be about prime time to be shed hunting .
we'll get out looking for them . it gives us a reason to be out there . the fresh air , and exercise doesn't hurt a thing .
I was putting out a few more traps yesterday . I'm making a set and Sally comes running with a decent shed . when we got home all she wanted to do was lay in the yard and chew on it . trapping season ends February 18 , then we'll start shed hunting .
let me know how that works with the 22 rimfire . I'd like to have something that makes more nose than a flat plate . I'll be making a few of these , if the rimfire rings them good .
great idea !!
good question , Dan .
there is a definite difference between virgin brass and properly sized fired brass . the virgin brass has a slower velocity .
as to what brand of brass the books use , I wouldn't even venture a guess . this is another reason to start low and work up while watching...
my opinion is 600 yards is where things start to come into play . inside of 600 yards is not so involved . I'd use that 300 wby , and practice . if you're good at 400 , start there and work your way out . I recommend you shoot off a bench to start with. this way it takes a little bit of the...
the seating stem doesn't match the bullet profile , is the most likely cause . a compressed load can cause this . too much neck tension can cause this . dry necks can cause this . a donut can cause this . no chamfer on the case neck can cause this. I like to use a VLD chamfer tool . I'd...
I was able to get out yesterday . from being sick , and snow and ice , this is the first I've tended my cameras for a while . I'm still on the bobcats , with my cameras . trapping bobcat is over though . .
the snow and ice has melted down some , and I was able to get out yesterday. here's 3 of the cubbies I had out . I had a few more , but it was too icy to get down in there for pics .
this one I used an old trash can and covered it in with pine limbs we had piled up from trimming for...
I went through my stuff , I don't have any to share with you . I usually have a bunch of them laying around for a , " just in case " moment . I wanted to mention , the Alliant 8 pound jugs are huge , and have a nice big lid . I'm not sure how much one would hold , but when I open a new jug...
JD , I might be telling you something you already know . if you need to release a bobcat don't put the catch pole cable around the neck . get a front leg and neck to protect the cat .
Fellas , I agree 100% , they were getting wise to me . I can't believe how they just kind of flipped the switch and stopped playing . it's like , " I'm taking my ball and going home " I'll have to try and figure out if I'd be better off to use less sets and keep it going , or if I did the...
