Nice pictures. Good to see another 8mm fan. I have an 8mm Remington Magnum.

I read some time back that they had plans for 26, 27, 28, 30, 33, 35, and 36 Noslers.

Both the 30 and 33 are very tempting to me, but I'd still like one in between. I've been saying for a while that a "32" Nosler would be my choice for a North American big game (bigger/tougher than deer) cartridge.

Cool. I've really gotten into them. I like what I've read about the 8x68S except the brass availability. My 8mm RM doesn't group worth a crap. I think it's the stock, warped over the years. When you set it into the stock, the action and barrel rocks back and forth before you tighten the action...

I'm just thinking that by moving the bullet out, it essentially makes the case bigger.

This is about what I had in mind. It's a 200 gr AccuBond next to a 325 WSM (measuring about 2.82"). With the angle where the boat tail starts on the bullet about even with the neck to shoulder angle of the case, I get it out around 3.06". I'm new at this, so tell me if that's a good or bad...

I think the 325 WSM can run very close to the 8mm Rem Mag with 160-180 gr bullets. But if I wanted to run that weight, I'd do it with a 300 and have better BC and SD. For the .323" bullets to show any advantage over .308" bullets, you need heavier (longer) bullets so you're comparing projectiles...

That's cool. I think a Rem 700 short action with a Wyatt's box will let you get out to about 2.99". I wasn't aware that a Win 70 could go longer than that.

I mean the overall length from the base of the cartridge to the tip of the bullet. I don't have a way to measure ogive. SAAMI maximum length is 2.860" I'm thinking of loading them at 3.0-something"

Would that be the same as saying a 375 H&H improved (if not quite as straight-walled and steep-shouldered as an Ackley Improved)?

YES! I see I missed the 8 mike mike party back on the first page. I'd love a 220-230 gr .323" AB. An elk/moose hammer that could reach out there. Every forum thread on the net that discusses 8mm Rem Mag, 325 WSM, or some 8mm wildcat has at least a couple of people mention that they thought...

What is your COAL? I'm still thinking of an eventual 325 WSM loaded long. The Defiance XM-length action allows for up to 3.20". I think somewhere around 3.06" with a 200 gr AB would get more of the potential out of that WSM case if I'm not confined to the SAAMI length.

I've only shot 115 gr Partitions and 100 gr TTSX. Neither grouped well in my gun. I have some 110 gr AccuBonds to try next. I haven't killed anything but paper with my 25-06.

I'm interested in knowing exactly where the shoulder is on the 30 Nosler. Not online yet. Still kicking around the idea of necking it up to .323". :twisted:

Huh. I never measured exact clearance. I wrap a dollar bill around the barrel and see if it slides between it and the forend.
