CCI Standard Velocity shoots AMAZINGLY in my Model 52 Winchester. I use the CCI High Velocity 40 grain roundnose in my High Standard Sport King, it is accurate and functions well.
With brand new brass, I will wear cotton gloves to keep from staining them with bullet lube greasy fingerprints. Then I was my hands with soap and water afterwards like always. Like others have said, the latex (or vinyl, nitrile, etc.) gloves get rather sweaty if worn for a long time.
Does anyone have any experience with audio to text transcription technology? I would like to buy or download software that enables me to take voice notes and transcribe them verbatim to a word document. I would also like to be able to write via speaking into a microphone on my computer.
Thanks...
As of today, May 29th, my wife Emma and I are celebrating 10 happy years of marriage. Together we have two wonderful kids, Andy and Melanie and many happy memories. Here’s to the next 10 years!! 🍻
A touching tribute to a deserved mentor. As they say, “it takes a village.”
I too have been lucky enough to find mentorship in various teachers, bosses, leaders, etc. Theirs is an indelible footprint on the trail which is our mortal life. So sorry for your loss Vince.
Congratulations on such a worthy endeavor! I am working on this too. Came out of winter weighing as much as I ever have this year. Had a bad year of health problems last year too.
I’m on a custom diet and have been intermittent fasting as well. Have only been at it 3 weeks but have lost 17...
Me too. I have several .30-06’s too and frankly have a tough time justifying anything larger for where I hunt.
That could change if they reintroduce grizzlies, but even so, I would not feel under gunned with a .30-06 and appropriate bullets.
Besides my rimfires which see lots of use, I could...
An interesting topic, I will bite. My gaps are as follows:
.244 - I just happen to like .224’s better for varmints and .257’s better for game
.264 - Would love a 6.5 Swede, have access to a .264 Win Mag
.277 - Gave my last .270 to a nephew for Christmas, may get another someday
.323 - Loved my...
Besides the pros/cons others have mentioned, I add the following:
.35 Whelen (which I own)
Easier to get or form brass (stateside)
Better selection of bullets (stateside)
More rifles in circulation (stateside)
Easily fits in any ‘06 length action
9.3x62mm
Gaining ground in popularity...
Of all of the Creedmoor cartridges, I must say the .22 and .25 intrigue me the most.
I see that a new 128 grain ELDX is being produced by Hornady for the new .25 Creedmoor and has a G-1 Bc of .633, my question is, does anyone think I have a prayer of getting that bullet to stabilize in a...
Good luck sitting on your hands. I simply don’t have the fortitude.
I have owned several Ruger M77 rifles but the only Hawkeye of the bunch is my current .22-250 and it shoots great.
For $500, I don’t think you could go wrong.
I have leverguns from Winchester, Marlin and Savage and I like and appreciate them all. Each design is slightly different for sure.
The Winchester 1892 .25-20 WCF and the Marlin 39A .22 LR far and away see the most use. But all of them are super fun to shoot. I guess I will have to say that I...
