Two more factors to offer for your consideration: Temperature. I've noticed some of my groups opening up a fair amount when shot in colder weather. This time of year its possible [ at least in my home state of Michigan ] to experience a 30+ degree swing in temperature between shooting sessions...
I'll give a second recommendation to IMR 4064. I use it for my son in law's new Tikka and in my Model 7 with the 120 BT's. Both guns shoot it very well using 42.0 grains and CCI BR2 primers; the Tikka shoots 100 yard cloverleafs, the Mod 7 shoots about 1/2 inch groups. I've never needed a second...
My hunting partner has recently had some neck surgery which has left him very sensitive to recoil from his hunting rifle. He has changed to an autoloader to lessen the felt recoil. I'd like to load some 125 gr BT's for him to use in hopes that it will make shooting more comfortable for him. My...
I did.... And they are going no where! I don't understand how the market has such a huge demand but the stock [OLN] is just sitting there or even going down a bit! It makes no sense to me.
I'm not contemplating a purchase of one; just curious. The concept seemed intriguing and I was looking for opinions regarding its use, practicality, and future. Being a "gadget nut" it all seemed like a good idea; but its amazing how many "good ideas" never turn out to be practical concepts in...
Whatever happened to the Remington Etronx?
Many years back Remington was marketing a bolt action small caliber rifle using an electronic fire control system versus the mechanical system used in virtually all other modern rifles. The concept sounded interesting. Did it really provide any real...
My son-in-law became a believer in my little 7mm-08 this year. He was using my Rem Model 7 with 120 grain BT's. He took a shot at a 165 lb 8 pt Michigan Whitetail at about 80 yds. Shot him in the brisket... head on shot. Well, that buck dropped and never even quivered he said. The bullet entered...
Pop: thanks much for the data and suggestions.
Onlybrowning: Got the 110 grain Accubond 270's at Graf.com. As you noted many other vendors didn't have this in stock.
Thanks for the timely info and replies.

Where can I find load data for the new 110 grain Accubond bullets for my 270 Win?? My local dealer is out of the Nosler Manuals and no data exists on-line at the Nosler website. My old manuals are no help. Help please....
Don't discount the 120 grain Ballistic Tips. I have used them for many years with great success on Michigan Whitetails. Faster with less recoil is a winning combination in a lightweight rifle; and I got tremendous accuracy with it. Enjoy your new purchase!
Thanks for your replies and for relating your experiences. It sounds like I can just go ahead and shoot em up. I appreciate everyone on the forum sharing their experiences. rquack
Does anyone have any experience re-using pulled bullets???? I use an RCBS collet type of bullet puller and was wondering how badly using this bullet puller might mess up a bullet?? they tend to look good after being pulled, but I didn't know if this might affect their concentricity and balance...
Thanks for the insight, gentlemen. Let the loading being!
I bought about 10 boxes so I have plenty for load development, plinking, and hunting too. Sounds like a very good Whitetail bullet. I've use the 120 gr BT in my short barreled Model 7 with great success, but it sounds like these 130gr...
I am presently loading from a Nosler #5 Manual. There is no descriptive information listed as to the ideal use and terminal characteristics of the Solid Base Bullet. The BT is listed in this manual as a "Solid base ballistic tip" so I am assuming that loading data will the same. But I am looking...
I put a brake on my 300 Win Mag. I will never make that mistake again. The recoil reduction was minimal compared to the blast from that beast. Never again...
Sorry gang, no more daughters. One 21 yr old son, who is soon to be spoken for by a moderately liberal young lawyer wanna-be attending University of Michigan. I think I've got my work cut out with her; took her shooting a couple of times, she's not in a real hurry to do that again. Oh, well...
Please allow me to brag just a little bit.... My daughter married a farm boy from north of town. They met spending summers together, his grandfather owned the cottage next door to mine. She also grew up coming with me to the gun club and at age 13 she and a girlfriend took a skeet shooting class...
I've been using these for many years now on Michigan Whitetails. I've never had to fire a second time. I've done well with IMR 4064 in my short barreled Model 7 Remington. Sub moa accuracy, hard hits, dead deer, low recoil, it just doesn't get any better than this!
I own that same rifle and really like shooting 120 grain BT's out of it. 1/2 inch groups and deadly on deer. Plus very little recoil! I'm using 43.0 grains of IMR 4064, book velocity of 3050, but I've never chrono'd it out of the little gun. Good shooting
