That sounds about right… first shots were over a foot high at 25 yards.. turned it about 4 revolutions to get it near target.. so a form of inches at 100.
Thank you very much. I’ve never seen one like that before…
I looked at the bullets rated Mv is 1600-3100.
So next I looked for 300BO recipes for that bullet… and they don’t have them. Instead they had 2 225 grain bullets - both target bullets…
Does that imply the 220 gn RN. #3090 rated Mv 1600-3100 and the only Hornady 308 rated for Dangerous...
Hi.
I got this scope, Leupold Vari-X III, 2.5-8x
I’ve never seen an adjustment like this. No MOA or MILRADs, just numbers..
When I adjusted it, I felt no clicks..
Can anyone tell me what these markings are referring too?
Took it out today with three test groups.
53.8 shot 3085, 3066 and 3100. SD 17, ES 34
Next one gets more interesting
54.1. Shot 3099,3100 and 3105, SD 2, ES 5
Next one right there
54.4 shot 3115, 3121, 3119. SD 3 and ES6
I don’t think I’ve ever had loads in the single digits for SD and ES...
Bought two pounds of RL17 today at Joe Gunn Sanford MI. He has a smattering of powders. rl7,10,15, 19,22,23,25. Took the last two 17’s, and didn’t see any 26.
No signs of pressure at 59 grains… will push it a little harder.. I would like to get it up to speed. Case volume was pretty tight..so not sure I can get far.. but will work up in 0.3gns..
Well, tried a new jug of H4831sc, and basically got the same velocity. The old jug of powder is fine. Using the Barnes TTSX 130 and RL17, I’m getting 210fps more than I’m getting from H4831.
Interestingly, comparing manuals. Hornady Recipes vs Sierra Recipes…Sierra stops at 58.6, but...

Kinda excited about this ladder.
53.5-54.1 is looking like a node
51.4-52.0 looks like a node.
Pretty solid. Been reading about guys using 410’s and TSS #9 to take turkeys…
I’ve taken 1 Tom at 25 yards with a 20 gauge beneli super sport(I’m not a nice man). Flattened that Tom. No floppy, just bang flopped.. so with the TSS product.. I can see it being pretty potent medicine.
So I have a well used bullet puller, maybe excessively worn puller (flood ammo that went click- silence, I’d pull the bullet and salvage the cases…
Well. The cartridge holders would not hold the bullets…so very frustrating and slow.
Today, I used my shell holder from
My press, voila! That...
Thanks Jim! Was wondering about that!.
I know Dr Mike has had tremendous success with etips in his WSM’s and I was considering avoiding lead in my game loads.. just to avoid some risk of lead ingestion.
