TackDriver284 I'm using RL 17 as per Federals recommended powders. I found a good velocity node during my ladder test on 0.2 grain increments. The loads I worked up are with one of the nodes at the higher 0.2 grains. I haven't tried the lower 0.2 grain node yet.

Yes, I'm happy with the velocity. My Browning's like quite a bit of jump so would you try seating slightly shorter first or seat a group .015 shorter and 0.15 longer and try again?

Jb, I've had really good luck with my Browning 270WSM with Magpro and Fed 210M primers and 150G Accubonds. Just over 3000 fps and 0.3 to 0.4 groups at 1230 ft elevation. Hope this helps.

Very informative write up Dan. I've had pretty good results with RL17 and H4831SC with my Browning 300 WSM. Have you experimented with either of those powders?

I'm wondering if anyone has the same results as I have using nickel plated brass vs bronze. In both my 270 WSM's rifles, using all the same components except the case type, I get better results using nickel plated vs non nickel plated. Federal and Browning cases are the only nickel plated...

I just thought I would pass them on to anyone looking for bullets. My local Scheels have 30 caliber 180g Accubonds on sale for $39.00. That's the cheapest I've seen in awhile. You might be able to order online also, not sure. Hope this helps someone.

mjc: Yes, I found a very good load with TA and H4350. Had good luck with H4831sc and RL17. I just like the WSM's

Thanks for the kind words. I've used Norma Bondstrike and Accubonds the past few years with excellent results but really excited to try the TA's. Part of the fun of reloading is to try different "recipes".. at least for me.

I think I found my Elk load for this fall. H4350 with Norma Brass, Remington 9.5M primers and Federal TA 175 bullets out of my XBolt. Average speed was 3087fps. Pretty happy with it.

Mystery almost solved. I decapped the 30.06 in question and compared it to my Federal primers. The color under the anvil is yellow which matches my Federal 210 OR Fed 210M. I doubt they would put 210M primers in their factory ammo. Thanks for the replies.
