Yes there's more animals here than I realized. Good numbers of moose and whitetail deer. I saw some elk tracks the other day so it's just a matter of time till we get one on camera. A few mulies there but more of them if I go higher in elevation. About 20 km to the east there are even some caribou.

Saw this idea on YouTube from a guy in Eastern Canada to deter the bears. It's supposed to work.

I've used the 200 gr Accubond, 200 gr TTSX, 225 gr Sierra and 225 gr Partition on Black bears out of the Whelen and they all worked quite well. The Sierra would be considered the "softest" but it opens wide and will be a hammer. You'll do fine with any one of those.

Since I have a nice whitetail buck on my trail cameras and several others this looks to be a very interesting study this guy is doing. Looking forward to seeing more of his content.

Lots to like about that rig especially since it's a lefty. Pretty hard to beat a fast twist 25-06 for deer sized game anywhere. Beautiful gun!

I ended up getting a pair of Muddy trail camera's on sale at our local Canadian Tire. Pretty happy with them so far but I hope those bears leave them alone! My other one had a lot of action so will take a while to get it together. Eventually I'll try and do some narration with them.

Congratulations on your bear he's a beauty. The 8x68 is a pretty potent round and that RWS brass will last forever when you start reloading. When I guided mountain goats I had a guy shoot one with that exact same factory load. I'm out again tomorrow afternoon for bear.

I've just used a coarse file and then cleaned it up at the end with some fine sandpaper or emery cloth.

It's very similar to comparing a 270 Win to 280 Rem. Not much difference except one can shoot heavier bullets. The 9.3x62 has a lot more heavyweight bullets but the 35 Whelen will shoot flatter with its lighter bullets. I used to want to shoot heavy 35 cal bullets but bullets in the 200-250...
