    Wet Weather/Alaska/Brown Bear hunters

Regarding the rain gear, I have a brand new set of Sitka rain gear as well as a rubberized overcoat to help. Don’t mind some hardship but at 63 don’t want to be wet and cold for 10 straight days!

    Wet Weather/Alaska/Brown Bear hunters

LRX is the fastest expanding bullet in the Barnes line. I do have a couple boxes of Swift A Frames in 250, 275 and 300 grain as well as 260 and 300 gr Nosler P’s. I have considered them all and I might be over analyzing this which I tend to do sometime being an engineer! lol! Probably would be...

    Wet Weather/Alaska/Brown Bear hunters

I am interested in a little advice/opinions from our esteemed members. I am planning an Alaskan Brown bear hunt in May of 2024. I will be hunting with Justin Horton's group and he has advised me to be ready for lots of rain. We will have a 10 day hunt on the edge of Ursa Bay from a tented camp...

    308 subsonic

I have an AR 15 in 300 BO. I was able to develop some good subsonic loads for it with 220 gr jacketed bullets and H110 powder. Problem was when I put a suppressor on it it would not cycle reliably with the 220 gr BT's. That is why I am going to a bolt action rifle in 300 BO. Since all of the...

    308 subsonic

I guess great minds think alike! Lol. May have to drop to a 200 gr or even 180 gr to stabilize. I was hoping to use 220 gr BT’s but now understand they don’t stabilize in normal 308 twists. Only data I’ve seen for subs is with Trailboss. Maybe I can locate some. Yesterday I ordered a Ruger...

    308 subsonic

I will be experimenting with 308 Win , 220 gr subsonic loads. Right now the only pistol powders I have available are Longshot and H110. has anyone had success using either powder? If not , what other powders have you had success with? Thanks Jimbeaux

    Pistol Red Dot Optics 🔴

I have several pistols set up with red dots. By far my favorite is the Holosun 507X2 that allows you to choose a circle dot reticle. I find this much easier to pick up than a simple dot. All my future ones will have a circle dot option.

    Experiences with 8MM's

I have an unmodified Kar 98K WW2 rifle in 8x57. I have drilled and tapped it and put on a 3 post reticle scope to simulate what the German Snipers used. Not authentic, definitely faux, but as close as I could get. Have killed several deer and 2 coyotes with it. It is a sub 2” group rifle that I...
