Speaking of flash hiders, I couldn't be happier with the Strike Industries Venom flash hider. It eliminates the vast majority of flash, and at $50.00 it's even more appealing...Although it does "ring" after the shot. Imagine a very faint tuning fork sound. But, living with pretty bad tinnitus...
There's no completely avoiding it, but the goal is to minimize and let the flash arrestor reduce it even more. I know with the 6 ARC, I found a huge difference in IR white-out by working with powders until I found one with full burn somewhere around 2" before exit. I'd have to guess it is a...
Ok, Thanks. I should have said TAC-TX not X, but either way it isn't in GRT either. Guess I'll have to build a bullet profile, and calibrate with a few starting loads in GRT
Could someone run a QL model for me. I'm working on a SBR Grendel with a 12" barrel, and hoping to find a powder with 100% burnout before muzzle exit to be IR scope friendly. May be a tall order, but I think N133, N130 will do it. also looking at H335 and Benchmark.
Thanks a million!

The guys that let us hog hunt with them in Alabama had one in their camp. Hog hair is death on blades, especially when the group has 12-15 hogs to cut up. After using it a few times, we quickly divided up the cost and got one for our deer camp. A great item to have...I do like the outdoor edge...
I see what you did there...Not exactly how my Dad worded that phrase :D...Playing around with a black light, and they are highly visible in a pitch-dark room. Should do fine for night fishing. I don't really like using a lantern, just click on the headlamp when I need to see.
Dan, the bluestone headwaters are East River Mountain by the house. Across highway 19 in front of the house you can pretty much step across it where it gets its start.
Here's a great little call, for whatever reason, hasn't garnered any attention for over a year. I suppose it's because it's a simple maple wood and not full of highly figured grain or exotic wood. But it is a handsome call that does have some natural discoloration in a few spots. More...
I was so proud of my new catfish rods/reels..bragging how easy they’ll be to see at night.
And then my grandson pointed something out that busted my bubble. Even the purple trim..sigh.
Every time I cast I’ll be compelled to yell “To infinity, and beyond!”
Awesomeness! My dear departed Uncle Andy would swear that the only thing capable of killing a whitetail was a Savage 99 in 300 Savage and a 150 grain JSP. Although, after beating through the woods for so many years, his looked like it was runover by a train in a rainstorm.
This is a hedge apple (Osage orange) copper that is ready to go. These go fast! And I only have one left, for now. Glass soundboard inside and a hedge striker. I’ve redesigned the hole pattern for a little different sound. I’ll be getting more made before spring, catching up on other calls right...
My daughter cooked a batch of hunters paella with deer instead of chicken. The cast iron did great get the bottom rice a tad crispy. A little heavy-handed on the spice level for me, but I guess it’s just me, everyone else thought it was just right.
Ordered the Breek arms flash hider and screw on blast shield. So far it’s working as it should. At the range, or in a shooting shack, you can screw on the blast shield to direct the blast forward. The flash hider has external threads for the shield to screw on to. Folks beside me at the range...
With all the available options nowadays, "wonder cartridge" may be a stretch. Looks like it won't gain much, if any, over the RUM. Curious what the length will be, I wonder if it'll be like the Sig Fury steel case by stuffing a lot of pressure in a short steel case.
