Got a LCD for 338 Win Mag.
First use crushed case. Second use crushed case. Disassembled and everything looked good to me.
Reassembled and another try, another crushed case.
It was then I discovered they sent me a 300 Win Mag die in a 338 Win Mag box.
I haven’t had any other issues with...
Will be working up a load with 165 grain Accubonds for the .308.
Will do a work up from the starting recommended load but just wondering what powder is working well with this combo.
Shooting out of a Ruger Hawkeye Predator.
Had one of the coyotes show up on the shooting range last night. Got set up but just as I got on him with the scope he skedaddled.
Pic shows the light on the gun in the background.
Reminds me of an old farmer I used to hay for when I was in high school. We were talking about shooting nutria in the ditches and sloughs around his property and he told me he was thoroughly disgusted with himself because he had missed one with his .22.
Not so much because he had missed but...
Anybody have any experience with Sig brass?
I’ve got a bunch of at least once fired 6.5 Creedmoor brass ready to get prepped. I annealed the necks and will full length size them. Will be my first experience with Sig brass so hopefully somebody can give me some info on how they stack up against...
Never tried them but found a couple bags of blems in the .25 bullet drawer. . Will have to load a few for the 25-06 and 257 Roberts to see how they do. My go to in the 25.06 has been the old 120 grain solid base.
Thanks for the reply. Was wondering how this would work for a deer load. May not have ti experiment much more with this rifle then as I have a couple boxes loaded and ready to go.
Preowned rifle/scope combo. Trying out some Nosler handloads. I haven’t shot much lately so I think the rifle itself is fine and I was spreading them out. Pleasant combo to shoot from the bench.
Before I retired I spent a lot of time reloading and shooting. Goal was to develop a decent hunting load for most of my guns and reloading/shootingwas something that could be timed easily between my work shifts.
I actually did a lot of brass prep on the job during night shifts.
At this point I...
I’ve used quite a bit of Winchester brass and have never had an issue other than an occasional funky piece. Haven’t bought any in a while and I have been reading about quite a few failures lately.
Been very fortunate to have a good supply stashed away. Last primer purchase I made I did pick up a brick of small pistol primers for the 9mms. Price at that time was just under $40.
The short supply and high prices has taken the fun out of reloading for a lot of folks.
