The powder that I have was all made in Canada.I shot up almost all of one of the 8 pounders and never had any problems. It just went bad in the last few months.I set some of it on fire and it all burned, but seemed to burn rather slow.
As for consistency,I don't go to extremes, just a few basic things I do.What I do though,is keep my brass segregated by the number of rounds fired, same length and headstamp.I like to anneal after the third firing. That helps a lot because it keeps the neck tensions near equal as apposed to a...
I've only used 150gr Nosler Ballistic Tip in my 308 Win with a MV @ 2900fps.They were tough bullets, leaving silver dollar size exits.I felt like they might actually perform better with a little higher velocity.I think they will work OK in the 300WSM because they are tough and not explosive.
I never really noticed much difference between primers, but 308 Win is the smallest case I load for.I weigh every charge on my ammo, consistency improves accuracy.I know in some of my load work up,I have seen loads one grain or more difference, still shoot in the same group.I think you can get the...
I received an email from Hodgdon this morning.I sent them pictures of the lot numbers on the containers, along with other pictures of the corrosion of the broken down ammo. They sent me a release form to date and sign and will be sending me a reimbursement check. The powder I have was bought...
Thank You Guy,I missed this recall.I called Hodgdon today and left a message,so I'm waiting to hear back.I had some A4064 and A4350 from the 2020 recall.I was paid back for that powder.I had more A4350,when I saw your post I thought I better check, because the last time the recall came before...
The QL Dr Mike has ran for me sure makes my loading easier when choosing what powders to use.Case capacity of the cartridge, powder, bullet, barrel length and pressure all matched to your rifle have been amazingly close to what I'm getting when I chronograph my loads.Thank You once again Dr Mike.
BBQ those ribs.I like them better than beef ribs.I have a battery reciprocating saw. While the carcass is still hanging,I like to cut the ribs in strips about five inches wide. It's way easier than trying cut that way and much easier to package or cook that way too. Those ribs are also very good...
My 308 Win's all have 26" barrels.I use Winchester brass,Winchester Large Rifle Primers. All those loads listed give me between 2800-2812fps with a 168gr Nosler Ballistic Tip.
American Reloading has a good deal on pulled down Primed Sig 300 Win Mag brass.I bought some earlier this year and the quality looks really good.I just lubed the outside of the case and raised the decapping pin on my Lee die or just remove the pin if your die has a removable pin and run them...
I think your on the right track.I made my 338-06 brass from 30-06 brass. When I got my 35 Whelen,I just necked up the 338-06 brass,it was easy.Taking the 270 to 30 cal first is a good move.Make sure you lube the inside well and it makes it easier too.
I shot a big red stag with the 180gr Ballistic Tip out of my 300 Win Mag,mv 3130fps,125yds.Bullet hit the onside shoulder, traveled through the scapula, lungs and exited right behind the offside shoulder and dropped him right there. To be honest with you, they are a tough bullet, they perform about...
I shot a few deer with the 150gr Ballistic Tip out of my 308 Win,MV 2900fps.I though they were tough and deer usually didn't bleed that much either. The 165gr and 168gr were a much different story.Everything died right there, lots blood everywhere.
