    Rebarreling ? Need honesty

Update-I got the action and barrel assembled this weekend and it is all ready to go. Just need to order a stock/rings/bases and put the trigger in when the mailman drops it off.

Blue Cyclone has a Rival... :)

I'm guessing 110 AccuBonds as well. SPS had them on sale a few weeks ago so Guy might have been shopping. I use them in my 25-06 and they smack the heck out of deer.

    Rebarreling ? Need honesty

My local smith called and got it all fixed up. He said the action threads were actually a touch undersize and the tap cleaned it up. So for $80, it is ready for me to headspace and move forward.

    Rebarreling ? Need honesty

I contacted the seller and he said there is no way he sent the wrong barrel and that my action is the issue. I handed it off to a local smith today to look at and hopefully clean up. His thoughts were that if he ran a tap and die over all the threads, I would be back in business. I will keep...

    30-06/165 ??

It was 28 degrees out so that might be why it was a little slower. My chrono has been accurate up to date and the 7wsm rounds I fired were showing me that the chrono was still working.

    30-06/165 ??

I tried some IMR4350 with some 165 hot cors this weekend and got really low speeds. 57.4-2612/57.7-2592/58-2625. I didn't have pressure signs. Woud you keep climbing or switch to something else? I have some RL22 and H4350. Thanks

    Rebarreling ? Need honesty

ShadeTree, is correct, I attempted to thread the barrel. I had the barrel in the vice, started the action with the wrench. I'm guessing I made 3-5 spins with the wrench and started hearing/feeling something wrong, so I backed it off and found the damaged threads on the barrel. After that, I...

    Rebarreling ? Need honesty

Let's say a guy ordered a Remage barrel and after attempting to put it on a Rem 700 action the barrel threads are now messed up. After researching and talking to a gunsmith it is determinted that a Savage barrel was shipped. The barrel was going on with some resistance then suddenly became...

    Remage or tradional rebarrel?

I have a Rem 700 I would like to rebarrel to 7-08. I have most of the tools to put on a prechambered screw on barrel. At the end of the day, it would be about $600 to get a 22" barrel on the action if I did it myself. I could also send it to a respectable company and have them spin on a new...

    Rem 700 6mmRem??

This past summer my buddies dad called me and said he had a Rem 700 bull barrel in 6mmRem that can't shoot a decent group and wanted help. I got the rifle and cleaned it really well, put a newer scope on it and took the factory ammo he had to the range. At 100 yards, I shot a 4"/3 shot group. I...

Been awhile with some .30 cal

I have a TriggerTech and bullets on the way. I grabbed some 165 Hot Cor bullets to try as well. The 30-30 is ready to go with 160 Hornady bullets. That was an easy rifle to get set up.

Been awhile with some .30 cal

It has been a while since I've posted. Life has been busy. I want to share my next to reloading adventure with the group. The first rifle is my dad's Rem 700 Mnt Rifle. He has had it for a number of years and has shot Fushion ammo with good luck. In the past few years, he has been using...
