What bullet would you recommend for elk hunting in CO?

I understand if you can't buy the ones you really want but maybe a buddy of yours can buy one or two of them and someday you can buy them back from him. Better than Joe Blow buying it and never seeing him again. The M1 sounds like a dandy!!

I just went and checked the barrel for free float and action screws. The screws are set to Ruger spec and the barrel is floating. The scope is tight as well. ??? I plan on trying RL22 this weekend with the 140 hot cors.

My best load was 55.5 grains of IMR7828. It shot 1.125" with two touching and one out at .010" off the lands. From there, I tried seating some deeper. .020/.035/.050" off the lands and they shot 1.75-2.5" groups. Speeds were 3065 fps with 55.5 grains.

.010 to .075" jump. i have not had SD that low either. I'm open to any ideas and thoughts.
