That's interesting. I've used a chrony on my P226 .357 Sig shooting Underwood 125 grain ammo. I'm getting just over 1500FPS. Other factory ammo comes in around 1350FPS. My handloads are coming in at around 1475FPS. I guess underwood knows how to work its magic.

The only .338 I've shot on game is the .338RUM. I've never seen Elk (and other animals) go down so fast after being hit with either a 225 Partition or a Sierra 225 pro Hunter. Yes it has recoil but with when wearing your hunting gear recoil is negligible.
