    Polar Bear and Walrus

Yep if I had the dollars I would love to hunt both. I would likley donate the meat to a northern village / food bank. And keep the hide and head from the Polar bear, and likley have some knife handles or something made from the walrus tusks. I would only target older mature boars of both...

    Bowhunting!

This Weather cycle we have been stuck in , in Alberta continues. Which is not very helpful to me in my line of work , as just as in haying season the rain makes harvest here very tough. And when a window opens up for guys to get grain in the bin they have been going full bore ... Which...

    Youth Hunt 2016

Awesome , love hearing of the kids getting out and getting after it. My buddy always says take your kids hunting and you won't have to go hunting for your kids.

    What would be your choice???

Are our esteemed forum members actually trying to use logic for a rifle purchase??? This is truly remarkable , lol. True enablers should be encouraging you to keep the WSM but also buying the 45-70 .... Haha. I ve got a buddy both he and his father have 45-70's , but both ussually reach...

    And Evan scores...

Looks like a great hunt , I like the fact you guys use your mind as apossed to brawn to get the meat out. The 7-08 packs a pretty good punch and the fusion bullet works very well for factory fodder. Congrats to all the hunters.

The Boy is Becoming a Man

They grow up fast , we all know that Noah is learning from one very astute teacher! I have no doubt that the pie plate will indeed have 3 holes in it when he is finished.

    IMR 4320

A few years ago Varget was hard to come by up here , I switched to RL-15 and IMR 4320 for most of my varmint loads in the 243&6mm rem. it burns a bit dirtier then Varget .

    Moose Medicine

Moose medicine , the best one is the rifle you have got in your hand when you have a tag. I went on my first moose hunt with my Dad, and moms great uncle in 1990 I was 16. Dad had his 7mm RM and I borrowed Granpas 270 win . Robert ( GU) brought his 444. At 16 I marvelled over that triple 4 ...

    Alberta moose hunt

Getting close, an apartment sized freezer should hold a deboned moose. , I would leave it back at the outfitters base camp and plugg it in and throw in some block ice. If you pack all that meat the middle stuff may spoil. You will need to freeze it in a couple freezers to have the meat all...

    Mule Deer?

I have hunted them out west of Hinton in the foothills/forest. It's defintly a harder hunt then the prairie/coulees here at home. A few factors play into that though new area compared to one a guy knows very well. But of your 2 options I personally would be going spot and stock in the flats.
