Elmer I have some IMR 4831 on the shelf that was my go to powder for my 25. In my opinion it is quite a bit more "sticky" than the 7977. It's not been a problem in my uniflow but I also don't throw a full charge for my 25 with it cuz I'm work on the edge with it all the time. And now you've...
Well I ran some IMR 4831 thru my 25-06 5he other day to see just how it compared to the 7978. Everything is the same as the great I did with the 7977 except the powder. Wasn't real happy with the speed it produced and accuracy wast all that great either.
Here's what I ended up with.
1. 49gr IMR...
This bullet was recovered from a 2017 michigan buck shot with from a 24 inch barreled encore chambered for the 357 maximum. Shot over my chronograph is over 2400 fps. The shot was 125 yards hard quartering away the bullet entered 6 inch to a foot in front of his hind quarter tool a upward angle...
I do, used to do only beaver and otter, switched over to coyotes 3 years ago to coyotes and a few fox. I don't snare for the simple fact you can't legally set a killing type snares in Michigan, they must be relaxing. And those can be a nightmare.
If you get into the ballistic studies web site over in the land ofOz nathen has done a real nice write up on the 35 Remington and bullets for it, and how they perform at real world velocity.
has anyone ever ran a QL on the 357 MAXimum with slower burning powders than AA1680 with say a 180gr speer flat point bullet or the Henson 180gr bullet or heavyer rifle type bullets ? is it the straight walled case that limits the type of powder or the combination of straight wall case/ bore...
I would assume that they would work, there is a 1911 form out there, those folks could tell your for sure, or drop a line to ATI, I know my Ruger SR1911 CMD will take a standard issue 1911 mag, I know next to nothing about the ATI tho
No body ever thinks of shooting the pelvic area, a bobbing head would be hard to hit for anyone, A pelvic shot will put the person on the ground where he would be easier to deal with or get away..
I've shot quite a few northern Michigan whitetails with the 100gr partitions in my 25-06, closet was about 50yds, farthest around 125yds, it works very well, if it has a fault, it would be loosing the front half of the bullet inside 100yds, like its disigned to do at high impact volocities...
Sigs Kilo 2000
. big thread on another board where their running it with the big name big dollar range finders and its doing very well. priced around $400
I have a Ruger SR1911 CMD, for the price a hard gun to beat, runs everything I put thru it so far. if it has a fault its is it's weight. I carried it while doing Tether checks for the county. I also carry it concealed in a IWB Alien gear holster. this is a full size frame 1911, its all stainless...
