Thanks guys. Had I seen this rifle before I bought it sight unseen I am not sure if I would have bought it or not. At any rate that is past history, it has been quite a project and so far I am quite pleased with the outcome. Besides I guess I just like to tinker from time to time. Next week...
Thanks guys. I can hardly wait till this weekend. According to my son in law (who is a rancher out there) hardly no one actually HUNTS Coyotes out there. Their idea of hunting coyotes is driving around and if they see a coyote they shoot at it.
I am getting my son in law into calling and I am...
My late cousin's son had a H&R Ultra Rifle with the Laminated Wood Stock and Forend in .25-06. Since he bought other rifles he did not shoot this .25-06 any longer.
I knew it was a tack driver as I had talked to him quite a bit while he was working up a hunting load for it. All totaled it has...
Loaded the 90gr. Nosler Ballistic Tips for a Savage Striker Handgun in .243. Unfortunately the only thing I ever shot with them was paper.
I loaded the 95gr. Nosler Ballistic Tips over H-4350 for a Ruger KM77RFP MKII .243. Man that rifle loved that load and would produce 3 shot cloverleafs...
I have actually had good results going to Midway USA and looking up the different rings I have been interested in using. Midway USA generally lists right heights.
Things tend to get more complicated and different when going to 30mm Scope Rings in regards to height dimensions.

Thanks guys. After the last couple days around here our snow on the fields is almost gone. Talked to my son in law yesterday and it was snowing out there so there may be hope for a March hunt yet.

For years before I discovered the Nosler Ballistic Tips I used 150gr. & 165gr. Speer Spitzer Boat Tails in several different .30-06's with excellent results.
However since I discovered Nosler Ballistic Tips I have used nothing else. I have used both 150gr. & 165gr. Nosler Ballistic Tips in...
I have had both Remington Model 700 SPS .308's with 18 1/2" & 20" Barrels.
I bought a Remington Model 700 SPS in .308 with the intent of shortening and recrowning it to 20" (which I did). I worked up loads with Hodgdon's Varget with both 150gr. & 165gr. Nosler Ballistic Tips with the 165gr...
Thanks guys. Yes it was fun. I wish we could have hung a few more in the barn but I guess it was not to be. Now that I know the area next time should go a little more smoothly.

Thanks DrMike. Yes I had a great time. IF there is enough snow cover to see during the full moon in March I hope to be back out there. My son in law is going to start having calves in a couple months and we need to thin out a few more before then.

I know that is now a very good score and not what I was hoping for, but the first time being in that area and considering the weather conditions I'll take it.
I ventured 185 miles north & west from my home to where my daughter lives in Wishek ND Friday morning. I arrived out there about...
Yes I did build a custom Ruger Charger and it turned out great. Also had a Contender with a Super 14 .223 and Super 14 .30-30 AI Barrels. Also sold an Encore Rifle with 24" .223 and 24" .30-06 Barrels, as well as a couple AR-15's, a Customized Remington 1100 12ga. and my wife's Remington 700...
It would be used for mainly Coyotes. Deer would be a sometimes thing in that it would be used as a second rifle and or one for my grandkids. Songdog that 20" Remington looks like it works great for you. I too have used 95gr. Nosler Ballistic Tips in the past in a .243 I used to have for...
Thanks guys. I will have to do some more research. I still do not have my new to me .25-06 up and running, waiting on my Gunsmith now to bed it. This next project may be a ways off in the future.
Thanks
Larry
Thanks guys. That is what I was thinking. In my mind the .243 would be the economical choice. Between the 6.5 Creedmore and the .260 Remington is there a clear winner?
Larry
PS Yes Deer would be included also at times.
