    T/C Encore advice and info

That 280 might be pretty sweet. Even with a 24” barrel it would still be quite handy I’d think.

    Just an FYI....and it's good

Boy you aren’t kidding. I got lucky about 6 months back. Grafs got a bunch and I got 16lbs of it. It hurt but man it works well for me.

    Favorite European Cartridge?

I think it’d be a tie for 1st between the 7x57 and 6.5 Swede. I have a 9.3x62 and a 9.3x57 as well. I really like the 7x57 though. One of these days I’m going to make a Kimber Montana up in 7x57. I have the Featherweight Supergrade they made a few years back and my son has a Featherweight...

Favorite Lever Action Rifle and Cartridge

Model 71 carbine in 348 Winchester! If you count the lever on my Sharps, the 50 2 1/2" is next favorite..;)

    .280 Rem. Mountain Rifle

Welcome aboard, can't give you any better advice than the others have! I would hunt about anything with a 280 and 160 grain bullet that shot well. Just a great do it all sorta set up, if you don't have a 270 Winchester handy:cool:

    Elk Load for 300 WSM

You were an animal with them monsters back then.. Lil jealous!

160 grain AB or 175 Grain Partition

Either bullet will result in a bull/cow goes hoof's up... Used them both on a few elk and they're excellent elk bullets.

Same approach here. Let the rifle decide.

Trying really hard to sit on my hands.

Agreed. I did the same thing and rebored a Hawkeye into a 9.3x62.. excellent rifle.

    270 Win w/155 LRX QL

I don’t know if the 9 will spin them Joe. Worth a shot but they are marginal on the Berger calc. I’d use 150 data and work up as you would normally with 26 or H4831 or whatever good 270 powder you have. Those 155’s are long devils. You need me to send you some Hammers for that 9 ;)

    Favorite "whatever" cartridges...

Mines the 7 Mashburn Super. Read about it as a kid, had no clue what it really was till I was schooled by a few hunters 10-12 years ago I guess. Had my first one made on a rechambered M70. Later I had one built on a P64 Magnum action. Since then it’s accounted for a lot of stuff and has been my...
