    Salmon on the Beach

Columbia River salmon fishing. Barbless hooks so playing them out before bringing them into the beach.

First Ever Bear (Contains Some Graphic Content)

Well written and interesting account of the hunt. Plenty of adventure on that trip for sure.

    Coyote Showdown

Played peek a boo with this one for quite a while before it finally gave me a shot. Tried an electric caller right at dark. Had one come out on my other trail but wouldn’t come in close enough to see from the blind. This one came in three different times. It was suspicious but wouldn’t show...

    Feasting Fowls

More game camera footage of the cleanup crew. I had 40 pounds of salmon and steelhead heads, tails and guts that were left after canning this seasons catch. Was actually more action when they were all jockeying for a piece of the coyote carcass than when they were all contentedly munching on fish.

    Clean up Crew

Other than the squabble, the vultures seem to be passive. The whole bunch will stand and watch as one eats.

    Lucky Find

Was wanting a .223 rifle but didn’t want to spend a lot of money. Found a preowned Savage Axis in a pawn shop and brought it home. Got lucky the first load tried will work just fine for me.

    Oregon tag draw

Can’t seem to get an Antelope tag any more. It was a lot easier in the 1980s. Fortunate to get elk landowner elk and deer tags for the homestead. Can’t shoot a bull but able to fill the freezer with some good meat.

    Coyote from the blind

Kill shot video not very good. Filming through the blind screen right at dark with no light with a Sightmark Wraith scope. Chest shot with a hand loaded 55 grain Ballistic Tip out of a .223 Savage Axis At 125 yards. Coyote made it 20 yards into tall brush and wasn’t recovered until morning. Game...

    Gotta love FedEx

Swarovski SLC 15 X 56 arrived this morning. Was pleasantly surprised my old Meopta phone case fit just right. Just some pics taken during a rain storm. I am impressed with the clarity of the pics with an old I-phone 5. Able to see individual needles on a tree from 84 yards away...

    7mm Accubonds

If I can get them to shoot, I have opted for the 150s in my 7mms. Can’t believe all three weights wouldn’t perform well with the right shot placement. Scored a bunch of the old 150 Solid Base bullets a while back and will try them if I get the chance. I’ve been loading 120 grain BTs for the...

30 cal 150 grain Ballistic Tip loads

I’ve been kind of stuck using the 165s in my 30 cal but see no reason a 150 would be a step down. Interested in hearing your results at the range. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Tripod follow up.

I was able to find a good deal on a Manfrotto tripod and monopod fo use with the binoculars when they arrive. Has anybody tried using the Manfrotto hand grip head? Looks like it might be handy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Tripod advice??

I’m wondering if somebody can recommend a tripod for use with binoculars? I won’t be hiking with it so weight isn’t an issue. The one problem is I am 6’ 4” tall and would like to be able to use it while standing and not bending over. If there is anybody on here who uses a tripod with...

    Solid base bullets?

Anybody still using the old solid base bullets? The 120 grain was my go to for the 25-06. I’ve acquired quite a few 150 grain 7mms and have others as well. They’ve worked well for me. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
