    2022 Season Plans

I about went to college in Emporia as well. Unfortunately, they didn't have a drafting program like I wanted to do. The opportunities for big game are there if you take the time to look. If you have permissions for certain places in the state, you can even hunt elk. I'm a very proud Kansas kid.

    2022 Season Plans

Currently I live in Kansas City, but I grew up in Southwest KS, going to the northwest every month as that’s where both sets of my grandparents live

    2022 Season Plans

Mine is rather boring compared to everyone but such is life when you have a rather new child. I drew my Kansas either species/either sex tag in early July, so I'll be hunting mule deer with my dad in Northwest Kansas, unless I see a bruiser of a whitetail. If I can get a load worked up in my...

Tikka T3 Boar hunter 338 WM

I use a Mesa Precision Arms stock on my tikka, though it might get switched with some wood. Nothing wrong with the Mesa though

What 25 caliber (.257) cartridges do you own or want to own?

My favorite cartridge is the 25-06. My dad's is the 25-06. My grandpa's is the 25-06. His dad's was the 25-06. Subsequently, more than one rifle has made its way into my possession. My first was a Ruger M77 MKII V/T, then I sold that Then I bought a Sako 85 Bavarian and stupidly sold that...

    Less than pleasant subject

To add to this old post: This past season I shot at a buck with my 280AI using 140gr TTSX and I don't know what happened. I couldn't find any blood, but I do not know how I could have missed since it was only at about 50 yards and I had a good, clean shot. Maybe there was some brush that I...

New rifle build, 264 Win Mag

Good choice. You helped me decide that my next build will be a 264 win mag and I'll be using a 1:8 when I do.

New rifle build, 264 Win Mag

I'd have one of those maple m70s by now if they would bring back their lefty m70 action in it. Probably in 264 win mag as well. What twist rate did you get for your new barrel?

    QL for 280 AI again

I haven't been able to find much Alliant powder around in the last couple years, especially RL22 and 26. I'd love to get my hands on either. Good gracious that rifle of yours shoots well.

    QL for 280 AI again

Allen, I'm going to have to look into those at some point. At this time, I wouldn't consider myself the best reloader on the block so I've been cautious about using them. I'll have to talk to you about where to start if I get some

    QL for 280 AI again

I've used it in 280AI with 145 LRX going 3200 but I'm out, sadly. Haven't been able to find any more

    QL for 280 AI again

Thanks a bunch. A bit slower than H4350 but I'm sure I can work up a good load. My barrel runs a little fast anyways

    QL for 280 AI again

I have a request for 280 AI using 169 Hammer Hunters and IMR 4350. I have a few pounds of it and very little H4350. Just wondering what I can get out of it Thanks!

    Remington 700 280rem build

I'd go with either a 24" carbon fiber wrapped bbl, or a Bartlein #2b or #3. I always use 1:8 twist barrels for my 7mms but that's because of Hammers and other monos. For general purpose, 1:9 is typically great for 7mm. I'm in the middle of building a blueprinted Remington 700 280AI and I like...

    Leupold vx3hd 4.5x14?

I love mine (1 inch tube). I haven't had any issues with it so far. That isn't to say there aren't bad apples in the bunch. I've owned a few VX-3HDs and all of them were great scopes. Had to sell a couple when my family hit a rough time, though.
