My son is wanting to use the .270 Ingwe for his cow elk hunt in December,so I loaded up some 130 grain Swift A-Frame and RL-16.....
Going to try the 44.0 grain RL-16 load again. Will do so after my deer hunt next month.
Had a CZ re-barreled to .270 Ingwe,which is either a 7x57 necked down or a .257 Roberts necked up to .277".
Here is the rifle...
All it needs now is the moniker .270 INGWE on the barrel.
Went out Saturday with loads containing IMR 4350 and RL-16 and the 130 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip.
IMR...
I'm having this built and should be done in a short time.
It is a .270 Ingwe, which is either a .257 Roberts necked up or the 7x57 necked down.
On the left is the .257 Rbts necked up to .277",middle is .257,on the right is a 7x57 necked down to .277".
Headstamps. Yes,I know the headstamp says...
Since I have not been here for awhile,I'll introduce you to the latest rifle. Bought this .30 Gibbs around Thanksgiving time. It is a Enfield M 1917 (Winchester stamped on receiver) with a Weaver 4x scope.
.30/06 on the left and the .30 Gibbs on the right.
This is my .450 Howell on a CZ 550 action. The little case next to the loaded .450 is a 7x57.
The bullet is the .458" 450 grain Barnes TSX,powder is Benchmark (74.0 grains) and a CCI 250 Mag primer.
Picture of the rifle. Going to put a Leupold 1.5x5 on it in the future.
50 yards with iron...
Took the .460 out this morning just to try 87.0 grains of AA-4064,Fed 215 mag primer and the 500 gr Hornady DGX.
Shot at 100 yds and a 2070 fps average for the 4 shots.
Just need to go on safari now. ;)
Took my .460 out this morning and here are the results.
The lower two shots are the first, after adjusting 2" up and .5" left, the top two are the final shots. The .17 HMR is there for scale.
Traded for this rifle yesterday at the gun show.
WW1 Mauser M 98 action,Browning stock and barrel. The barrel was a .250/3000 that was re-chambered to .257 Roberts. Took it to the gunsmith so he could check the headspace and he said it was GTG. Scope is an old 4x Redfield with a dot.
100...
Since people are posting pics of some shooting they have done,well...
The upper right is from a clean barrel. Shot at 100 yards.
The rifle is a .375 RUM using a 260 gr Nosler Partiton,99.0 grs H-4831SC,CCI 250 Mag primer for an average of 2900 fps from a 26" barrel.
