    New for Nosler 2015!!!!!

Well this explains why .284 ABLRs have been in such short supply

    Win 70 PF 280 AI

Very nice. And I agree with what JD338 said. If you ever want to reach the full potential of that rig, you'll be glad for that long throat. I'm paying extra for a long throat. I gave my builder some LRABs and some Bergers to play with. If your chamber is cut to the new SAAMI spec then the Nosler...

    Problems scoping a No. 1

Thanks Guy. I have to say as a real Ruger fan from way back this has been a real buzz kill due to what I consider a design flaw.

    Problems scoping a No. 1

Well, I called Ruger and got the little gal you get when the tech guy is swamped. $45.00 later and an offset ring is on it's way. If that doesn't work then I reckon I got an extry for when the next poor slob comes on here with a similar problem.

    Problems scoping a No. 1

It's chambered in 7x57 Mauser. I chose a Weaver Classic in a fixed 4 power. I bough the rifle used and it came with factory rings. One of the rings is what I will call off set. I've switched positions of the rings. Still i can't get the scope mounted in a rearward enough position for proper eye...

    1 In 9 Twist -06

I've got a box of Berger VLDs 180 grainers on my bench and the box says for 1:10 twist. So i don't think it's always just about bullet weight. My 22" barreled model 700 in '06 likes 180s just fine but i haven't tried the Bergers yet so I can't say.

MODEL 70 280 Remington BUILD HAS BEGUN

Well here's my opinion, which is worth exactly as much as you're paying for it. When Nosler announced that they had had SAAMI spec out the .280AI there was an uproar. Which piqued my curiosity so I started researching things. Remington wanted to sell the .280 in their pumps and semis so they did...

Winchester Model 70 Supergrade 7x57 OH MY!

Yowza that's gorgeous! My next rifle will more than likely be a 7x57 but I've got too many gun related irons in the fire to think about $1400 right now.

    Check Them Ring Screws

I agree about checking action screws first thing. But on mount screws, blue Loctite is my friend. To each his own and all that but I have neither the time or patience to wait on soldering irons to heat up then hold them on individual screw heads, there are 4 and some times 8 of those, on the...

Hunting Rifle Accuracy, what's "good enough" ?

Like everyone else, I like these hunting camp, campfire discussions. I also like how guys explain why they're very demanding based on the conditions they hunt in. Personally, as much as I strive for bughole groups, that's mostly just a confidence builder. Last season I shot 2 deer, both about...

    ABs vs LRABs a question

That's great news! I would imagine with the popularity of .284s they shouldn't be far behind.

    ABs vs LRABs a question

Scott, Thanks for all that. I too chose the SAAMI specs. I've read your post a few times but I'm just too tired tonight to wrap my mind around it all. But I will save it in case I can't find any LRABs. I'm glad you brought up that thing about losing the 150s I've had it in the back of my mind...

    ABs vs LRABs a question

Thanks man, I really appreciate you going to all that trouble for me but I just don't think I'd feel comfortable without an actual bullet. Teach wrecked his motorcycle this morning. He survived but he's pretty dinged up so I feel like I have a little more time.

    ABs vs LRABs a question

Yeah I know bonded bullets usually like a jump. in the Berger I was looking at 180 grn in the LRAB 175. This is for a .280AI

    ABs vs LRABs a question

I'm looking at the site gene but I'll be seating this where the beginning of the boat tail is even with the base of the neck. This maximizes powder capacity while avoiding the dreaded donut hole. The pics on the site make it look like the boat tail is extra long and I couldn't find a measurement...

    ABs vs LRABs a question

My build is heating up and I was going to have the throat cut to accommodate the 180 Berger loaded long but suddenly I start hearing about performance issues on game with the Berger. So now I've switched to LRAB. I have plenty of ABs on hand but no LRABs and cannot find any. Thus my question...

Need your pet loads for the .280AI

Thanks for all the input guys. Now, if I could just find some LRABs in stock some where.

Need your pet loads for the .280AI

nvbroncrider, that's outstanding marksmanship. Outstanding. What kind of velocities are you getting and what COAL are you working with?
