Finally ran 1 through the jugs. Seems I can't post pics here off my phone. Could I e-mail them to someone?

Yup, email me at sjberetz at yahoo dot com

I'll get them up for you.

That is the sort of performance I've observed from the E-Tips recovered from game (130 grain .270 and .200 grain .338, so far). Very fine performance.

I really like the looks of that, maybe I missed it but what was the cartridge?

Looks just like the 90 gr. 6mm E-tips I put into jugs. They worked very well on antelope, deer, and a cow elk for my son a few years back. Never recovered any of them though, even from his cow at 350 yards! Bullet exited her offside shoulder. I really like those E-tips. Thanks for posting those. I bet they are screamers in a 25-06!!

Leadchucker, I'm with Tackdriver, what range were your jugs?

I shot a 100g E-Tip from my 25-06 and RL 26 at about 3330 fps into water jugs at 25 yards, found it in the 5th jug, weighed 99.5g and expanded to .589", pretty amazing.

Distance was 100 yds. 257wby mag. Penetrated 3 5 gallon pails of water. Retained 98.6gr. Picture perfect[WHITE SMILING FACE].

I may have to load a few of those and try 'em in my 25-06 rifle... Some years back I used the 100 gr Barnes TSX at 3340 fps mv for three mule deer, but got away from that bullet due to inconsistent expansion and excessive copper fouling of the barrel.

But, the E-Tip ought to address both of those issues!

Quite a satisfactory effort. That has to be comforting when you take the rifle and load afield.
