On my quest for the Holy Grail in my new 257 Roberts; 1:10 twist, 24" Krieger. Starting to wonder about the 115 and 120 gr Partitions. Other than the obvious 5 gr difference, .002 BC difference and .011 SD difference, what would help a guy decide on one over the other. My intended quarry is spike/cow elk.

Thanks,

Alan

Id go with the 115g. It will open up a bit more but still penetrate nearly identical as the 120g.

I think the 120g is better suited to the 257 WM. I shot a few of them out of my 25-06 at 3000fps and got decent expansion in wet newspaper at 100 yards. Not as much as I thought I'd see though. It still opened up, but I think the 115g just opens up a bit more, do a little more damage, dont think the extra 5g is going to amount to squat in penetration either.

I agree, the 115 gr PT just to get the velocity up a little more.
