300 Savage QL loads

I know I'm crazy for probably asking, but does anyone have any QL data for the venerable old .300 Savage?

I have Hornady 150 gr Spire Point Interlocks, and now 180 gr Hornady Spire Point Boat Tail Interlocks.

My Savage 99 has a 24 inch barrel.
I'm just kinda curious to see if there is any RL-22, and RL-26 data for it as well.
I'm wondering about running them up to there max pressure of 45,000 psi, since I have a 1954 made receiver, which I'm sure all were heat treated to .308 pressures.

Any help is fully appreciated!

I don't have a QL for you but I'll give you my opinion on the second part of your question. Not telling you what to do with your gun, but what I would do myself.

I'd have zero issues with running it to 45,000 psi provided I wasn't seeing any pressure indications in doing so. Those pressure limits in loading data such as Hodgdon's, are listed exactly because of guns such as yours, not in spite of. In a modern bolt gun I'd run it past that if I wasn't seeing issues in doing so .

Saami's current standards lists the 300 savage at 47,000 psi maximum average working pressures. That's their listed standards knowing that the vast majority of 300 savages out there are lever 99's.

As always, start lower and move up watching closely for anything resembling pressure.

I won't be running the 300 Savage that hot in my Savage 99.
If you would, can you run any data at 47,000 psi for the 150 gr Spire Point, and 180 gr Hornady Spire Point BT Interlocks, please?

I am also of the you don't have to push good old rifles to max velocity and pressure to have great results. With 125 gr Nosler BT, 150 gr Sierra Pro Hunter or Nosler BT 42 grs of IMR 4895 is plenty enough. 125s will do 2800 and 150s will do 2650 fps with super accuracy from 24" barrel. 41 grs Varget with 165 Sierra Game King or Nosler BT will do 2600 fps. These load will handle anything comfortably except the BIG bears inside 300 yards. The 125 BT is a deer hammer. If I had to just use one bullet It would be one of the 165s. It flies better than 180s and I don't believe an animal could tell the difference between it and a 180 gr.

I'm definitely not trying to push the old girl too hard. I was just curious if there were any RL-22 & RL-26 loads for the .300 Savage within the SAAMI perimeters.
I know it's a really good round.
