My gunsmith text me the other day, my barrel is in! He also has the gauges and the reamer should be in any day! I've I should have a donor action shortly. Darrin is going to let me watch him do all the work. So I'll have some pics of the build from the ground up to share here as soon as it gets done. I'm pretty excited.

I haven't made up my mind of a stock yet. There are so many choices! I think I'm leaning towards another McMillan.

This should be a very neat build, Jake. I'll be looking forward to the pictures as you post them.

Not sure if you have any experience with Manners stocks but I absolutely love mine! Worth a look at least. They've got a pretty sweet folding stock design out that would make the rifle a bit easier to fit in a case depending on how long of barrel you're planning on running.

That would be pretty cool to be able to watch the work being done! Looking forward to the pics of the process.

I'm looking forward to your progress also  Glad I have somebody blazing that trail ahead of me! I should have my barrel, dummy rounds, loaded rounds, and a new box mag on the way to the smith soon.

When I get to working again, I may head over and drop off a project with him, should I be able to find an M70 donor...

And I know mine will have a Mickey...

A stainless #4 fluted Benchmark. Fluted to finish @ 24" but I'm going 26" and no brake to start with.

Depending on the stock it should be between 8 and 9the lbs scoped ready to hunt. More than likely closer to 9.

Haha no brake to start with but I think you'll end up needing one anyway!

Amen! That is going to be a handful for sure..
