Hi Guys, well stroke another one up to old age  I have my nephew's CDL in the 7mm mag ready to drop in 60grs. of IMR4350 with 160gr ABs on top :), but I can not remember what the COAL should be :x. I have not loaded for this rifle for 2 or 3 years and I can't find where I wrote it down.
So if anyone has loaded for this please send me some hints on the COAL.
I hope to get to the range either tomorrow evening or Thursday.

PS. I am going to be using the new Forster Ultra Seating die for the first time :) with this rifle.

Thanking everyone in advance.

Blessings,
Dan

Hi Mike, I have that but with the ABs being so long I was wondering if someone had a length they were using that really tighten up the groups.

Blessings,
Dan

Do you have a way to gauge distance to the lands Dan?

I would start at 3.290 if you don't and see what comes out.

Cartridge : 7 mm Rem. Mag.(CIP)
Bullet : .284, 160, Nosler AccuBond 54932
Useable Case Capaci: 72.289 grain H2O = 4.694 cm³
Cartridge O.A.L. L6: 3.290 inch = 83.57 mm
Barrel Length : 24.0 inch = 609.6 mm
Powder : IMR 4350

Predicted data by increasing and decreasing the given charge,
incremented in steps of 1.0% of nominal charge.

One-sixty ABs in my XCR are loaded to 3.360 to clear the magazine-box and are about 0.020" off touching in the throat. I "CAN" load them even longer in the box, but this Remington likes some clearance in the throat.

YMMV,

Jim

Pending on your rifle's mag and throat of course. I sat mine out to 3.330

Dan,

You will have to play with the COL for that rifle to find what ot likes.
>015-.020" off the lands (magazine COL permitting) is always a good place to start.

Once you reach that ideal seating depth, in addition to writing it down and putting it in a file for that rifle, consider making up a dummy round with no primer or powder, and clearly labeling it for that rifle.

Can make it very easy to set your loading dies for that particular rifle in the future.

.
That's what I do. I put it in the box with my reloading dies along with the load data.
Once I find a keeper load my load data is saved on my computer, in a notebook and with my dies.
