8mm Remington Magnum

I just bought a used Remington 700BDL in 8mm Remington Magnum and was wondering if anyone loads for it. On the shootersproshop page they have belemished 180 grain Ballistic Tips and 200 grain Accubonds for a good price. Now I know every rifle is different in what they like but I'm trying to figure out which is more accurate in other people's expericences.

Congrats on your purchase. Boy did you come to the right place for the 8mm mag as there has been lots of testing recently with 200 accubonds, 220 sierras. I have not spent much time with the 200 AccuBond but I have with the 200 TSX and they are VERY accurate in my rifle.

Chris, as you know, I've used the 180gr BT in my 8x57. It's robust at those velocities, but running at the 3200+ velocities you'll generate with that 8Mag, I'd be far more inclined to go to the AccuBond in a 200gr. If Nosler ever makes a 180gr AccuBond, you might be able to get away with that. Or the 180gr E-Tip in .323cal would be a good choice, perhaps.

Congratulations on a rifle chambered in a great cartridge. There are several people posting data on their work with the big eight. Do a search for 8mm Remington Magnum, and especially check out some of the more recent threads posted on this forum.
