Anybody else like a 284?

I agree on the cool.
I picked one up a few years back.
Problem is cool rifles torment me and keep showing up. Worse than nicotine for me.

That is a good looking rifle, but the starting bid is waaaay unrealistic---IMO, of course. If it was an old Flat bolt I might think it was far more interesting.

I think the "unfired NIB" is driving the price....but I agree- a bit high for a M77. Heck, I didn't pay that for my "near NIB" .270 Express and they're reportedly rarer than hen's teeth.

I really like the 284 Win, very cool round.

I was discussing a build for a 284 today. However, mine will be on a Model 70 action. I don't need another Ruger Model 77.

Almost like a "7MMwsm", kinda, sorta.

I knew an old cowboy in Wyoming that had one. He shot many large bull elk with it and the 150 gr. factory load.

Saw a well used one at the gun-show yesterday for $575.

It's a sweet cartridge. Set up how Mike is thinking on an M70 should allow bullets to be seated out pretty far and anything 7mm is cool!

The original 7mm "short" mag?

Your not kidding. Heard about a BLR 284. With the right set up, that would be a sweet rig!

You boys keep this up and you'll push me right over the edge. Here goes another build.

Come on Doc. Everybody knows that fat brass with rebated rims are hot!

It could happen, and shortly. I'll see. I'm also in the market for about four new scopes, and that will deplete my reserves fairly seriously.

I'm with you, Mike. That would be a nice setup.
