Any of you guys seen a A Bolt 3? It appears to be a cross between a A Bolt and a X Bolt. Sounds like it going to be Browning's new entry level rifle with a MSRP of $599. It is only chambered in 300 win mag, 7mm rem mag, 270, and 30-06.

I thought the X-bolt was their entry level rifle?

The X is not cheap, for sure. This new A-Bolt III appears to be a modified A-Bolt II, best I can tell. I think they got rid of the hinged floorplate, and are just using a dropout magazine. And I noticed the receiver is identical except the forward section of the front bridge does not carry the hex shape - it's rounded. I'm sure that's a cost saver, as they didn't have to match up the flats on the recoil lug to the receiver, or machine it all after the fact. It might be a good rifle. Remains to be seen how it looks/feels in fit and finish when it hits the shelves, and at what pricepoint they try to sell it. Browning could do well with an affordable rifle in their catalog.

I agree the price is not cheap for an X-bolt but after looking at and handling them they sure seem over priced cheaply built to me.

Good to see, I hope they come out with a left hand version too. I was quite impressed with the X Bolt and the A Bolt III looks to be improved over the previous version. Maybe now they will drop the A Bolt II, I can't imagine they would keep all 3 in their line up but you never know.

I thought the x bolt was the new top of the line and the a bolt was demoted to entry level! The x has a lot more features than the A and is more expensive! The a bolt 3 would be in the middle.

Friend of mine had a brand new A-Bolt 3 at the range Friday. He was happy with it. He shot two just under moa groups out of the box with factory 7 mag ammo. He was playing with a brand new chrony as well so I did not get any details from him as yet regarding cost. Darn rifle looked sweet to me. He also had some nosler custom ammo with him. Don,t know if he shot it yet. I,ll try and find out.
