For those who use this method of fire forming brass is there a formula for case volume to powder and cream of wheat? I like to form some large brass up a couple of calibers. Cases would be the 378 WBY based going to 338 to 378. All the fire forming I’ve done has been the other way (necking down) size ,load and fire done. Thanks

I have used about 17 grains Red Dot, pistol primer (important), case filled with COW, grits, etc, then some toilet paper or wax to plug the case.

You can start a little lower, maybe 15ish grains and see whether it gives you enough oomph.

Here’s a link to a discussion on a different forum.

"COW" .... There should be some smart @$$ remark about a distressed bessy and ruined fences here but I cant think of one. :) CL

And grits are cheaper...

Since I don’t like either for eating I choose grits!
