ELD-X .338 270gr

[Hornet]

265gr ABLRs are proving elusive, so looking for alternatives. The 270gr ELD-X appears to have near identical ballistics. Use is 338 RUM, 400+ yds (~2350fps). Minimum expansion is farther than I plan to shoot (1600fps @ ~1100yds). I have not been able to find much information online about this combination. Anyone here have experience with this?

FYI for anyone interested. I talked to Hornady tech support and they don't have load data for the 270 ELD-X in the RUM. Apparently the 270 was designed for the Lapua and that's the only load data available at this time. However, the recommendation was to use a similar profile bullet, like the 265 ABLR, and use that load data.

Great info... I bet with RL26 I could move that sucker out pretty quick. I used to get 2650 with 22 and the 275 Speers. I’m betting I’d get close to 2700 with that one and 26. Bet that sucker would fly into next week at 2700 as well.

I’d still like to try the 265 ABLR as well.
